- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing varies a lot because of the individual needs of each customer---there's rarely a pinpoint quote to offer until there's enough information to know. I am a big fan of "under-promise, over-deliver," and I historically have been far more affordable than my competition.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A big thing is finding out exactly what the customer's expectations are. Too many editors try to impose their own will on the customer, but I think truly listening to the customer's needs and wants is an essential way to begin any effective business relationship.
