Ive worked with Dave to develop branding for my international development projects because he can work across a tremendous range of visual styles; cultural contexts; and languages; yet always ensures that a clear narrative or message emerges for the viewer. While responding to the Haiti disaster of 2010, I turned to Dave to help brand a project that involved Haitians conducting needs assessments and creating geographic data for humanitarian responders: these are not concepts that assemble easily into an elevator pitch. Dave responded in a very short time frame, under a great deal of pressure, to provide us with an identity that was clear, arresting, and gave the audience an intuitive understanding of what our project was doing. His design sharpened our value proposition and gave our message clarity that it was lacking.

Look for unique and pertinent solutions within their portfolio. Too much of a style means they may care more about their own vision than yours. Google them. Call some of their past clients and ask questions. A bit of due diligence never hurt anyone.
