FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was by accident. I bought my first camera because I needed to take product shots of a product I invented, and started toting the camera around everywhere with me and taking photos of my friends, and one day I got a call from someone who wanted to hire me for an event.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my clients use my services for head shots and portraits, and I work with print and digital magazines on editorial sets from time to time. I'm choosy about which events and private parties I shoot, but given the right atmosphere, I'm in.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find someone who gets the big picture and has the technical skills to nail the details. If you have one without the other, your shoot is either going to end up subpar or boring, and that's not worth paying for in my book. Also, look at the types of people your photographer works with and the type of work he/she has done. Everyone has a style and target audience that they're best at - you're way more likely to get good results from someone who has already shot the type of work you're looking to produce.
