Amy was very professional and knowledgeable during our renovation project. She had many great ideas that made the space much more comfortable and convenient than I could have imagined possible! Not to mention everyone who visits have always been so impressed with our design. I would highly recommend Amy for any architectural or interior design projects you might have.

We hired Amy to help us with designing and managing the renovation of our courtyard home in Beijing. Working with a local developer, one of our main concerns was that our requirements and vision would not be met. A main point for us was to protect the authenticity and character of the original home while also creating comfortable, modern living spaces that worked with our lifestyle.
Amy made sure to stay true to our vision by providing valuable design input and regularly communicating our wishes both to the developer and the workers on site. She was instrumental in bringing the project together and bridging the gap linguistically and also culturally, using both her Chinese and European design style. I would recommend working with Amy to anyone.

Amy is a creative interior designer who worked with us on renovating our 300 year old Chinese mansion, transforming it into a boutique hotel. Amy listened to our needs and paid close attention to the details, making sure the design would work for us and the future use as a hotel. It was especially important for us to highlight the history of the building and Amy did a great job respecting and incorporating the historic details into the design.
She was professional and communicative and made sure to explain the different design steps to us so that we knew what to expect. We are very happy with the results and many of our guests visit us thanks to the Red Dot design award this restoration project won. We would definitely recommend Amy for your interior design needs!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The initial client consultation is free. Thereafter I charge either by the hour or a flat rate based on a percentage of the overall budget. This depends on the scope of the project and client requirements. Billing is usually bi-weekly and I keep itemized timesheets so the client can see what I've been working on.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to kick things off with an initial (free) face-to-face meeting, or if this is not possible a phone conversation. This is to both get acquainted with the client and to better understand their requirements. During that meeting I explain the overall design process and any key stages. Once the scope of works have been discussed I deliver a proposed timeline outlining the design phases and a 'terms of agreement' contract. Both documents can be adjusted to meet the client's expectations or address any concerns they might have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied architecture in the UK and then worked for several years in the industry, mostly on residential renovations and community-led projects. I then moved to China where I worked in architecture and interior design on projects ranging from small remodels to historic restoration to large-scale commercial projects. Several years ago I moved to the States where I now work in high-end residential interior design.
