Introduction: Welcome to Indigo Body Massage & Orthopedics! It is our mission and drive to help our clients to live a more optimal and efficient lifestyle by helping to alleviate pain and tension in the body so that they "do not feel pain." Having been in a lot of pain both physically and emotionally in her life, the owner Jessie Thompson knows what it is like to be in pain and to live in a life while suffering and struggling with pain, anxiety and depression. That is why, through her therapy, acupressure and orthopedic work , she aims to help take away the pain of others through the healing power of touch and advanced massage therapy modalities. Her mission and purpose here at Indigo Body Massage is to provide exceptional and unique body work using the vehicles of orthopedic massage modalities, acupressure, and myoskeletal alignment therapy. We are conscientious, goal-oriented and results driven, using integrative therapies to achieve our clients' desired goals. Our goals are focused on the health and well-being of our clients, and to provide individuals with the tools necessary to be able to live a sustainable, pain-free, and healthy lifestyle while performing at optimal levels. (And feeling GOOD!) We are committed and dedicated to providing our clients with detailed, CUSTOMIZED and nurturing treatments. We are extremely passionate and relentless about the unlimited healing powers of massage therapy its potential to help others realize their own self-healing capabilities and potential. "My belief is that this is my calling and purpose on earth to help, heal, and empower others with my gift of touch and healing powers. Through my work I serve my higher purpose because I believe that "to heal is to serve." I have devoted my life and my work in massage therapy to that very philosophy. It is my own personal journey that I use for growth and what fuels and drives me on a daily basis to become a better therapist and person. I originally found massage therapy when it healed my own body and mind from injuries, surgeries, accidents and other traumatic experiences over the years which has made me who I am. These life shaping occurrences confirmed my purpose of helping others to achieve the same benefits from massage therapy. Practicing orthopedic massage therapy and acupressure is my sanctuary and guiding force; It focuses my energy allowing me to show kindness to others through touch and by taking away their pain. I am originally from East Texas and moved to Austin three years ago from North Houston. Graduating from Lauterstein-Conway School of Massage and dedicating my life to the healing art, I found my calling in helping others to heal their bodies, minds and souls from chronic pain, stress, depression, injuries and surgeries. In my spare time when I am not working with clients or running my business, I very much enjoy training Japanese jiu jitsu and judo which I also find to be a powerful healing tool that is an "escape" for me and has helped me through challenges and difficulties throughout my life. I find that massage is also a therapy and an escape internally and spiritually and that helping others is a powerful healing tool in and of itself. One of the aspects that I enjoy most about massage therapy is that it is like moving art and it offers that same healing and customized therapy as martial arts and combines movement with physical touch to aide in healing the body, physically, psychologically, spiritually and emotionally. I try to walk the walk and consistently follow a very conscious and healthy lifestyle myself in my own personal practice which I am certainly open to sharing freely. It is my passion and desire to spread this knowledge of its healing power to as many people as possible in my short time here on this planet and to help others reap the full benefits from it. What I enjoy the most is seeing my clients benefit enormously from the power of massage and seeing what it really can do for body, mind, spirit and soul. I have seen people healed in ways that are beyond description through the power and gift of touch and I strive to give my clients my best and to help in any way that I humanly can." - Jessie Thompson MT#123259 If you are interested in working with us, please contact us for a request at indigobodymassage@ gmail.com (We currently have a waiting list!) and we do ask that you read our professional boundaries, draping policy, tardiness policy and cancellation policy FIRST before contacting us. This is not an ordinary masseuse, this woman is highly educated and spent many years learning her skills. I was quite impressed with the sheer number of modalities that she knows. there's a difference between a massage and actual medical orthopedic corrective work... I hardly ever make recommendations, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone that is in pain, wants to improve athletic performance, etc. She is levels above anyone I have ever been to in my 35 years of experience. Money well spent!!!

Jessie is simply amazing. A warm and wonderful person, she is gifted in her ability to heal with both touch (massage) and smell (aromatherapy). She is incredibly knowledgeable in both of these realms, and always endeavors to impart wisdom to her clients to encourage their healing and health journeys. Highly recommend!

Jessie is an incredible therapist. She takes her time to assess your needs and makes you feel as comfortable and valued as you could hope for. My neck and shoulders were very tense from my desk-job and student lifestyle, and I can't tell you how much better I feel after working with the ray of light that Jessie is!
Indigo Body Massage & Orthopedics's reply
Thank you kindly Cailey, I am sincerely grateful that you were feeling better after your session and look forward to seeing you again soon. And the very best of luck to you in school!!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

That I do my very best to listen actively and learn from my clients each and every session, every day. My goal, my primary goal at least is to make sure that when they leave my table but they are not in pain and that they got exactly what they came here for in terms of massage goals.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

after an initial phone call or confirmation on a client's booking, I normally do a quick assessment on their body to observe the movement and structure as well as posture of their body. And then I will go into explaining a few words about myself and my specialies, and right into what the client is there for and how I can help to make it better. I want to make sure that all of their concerns are met before they leave the table and they are more than happy with their service and try to go above and beyond for my clients each and every time. I even offer fresh fruit water often days to take home with him and self care tips, exercises and stretches and sometimes Epsom salt or a self-care tool such as a tool or homemade, hand-crafted anti- flammatory oil upon request and if they need more tips and tools, I will email it or text it to them the next day when I do it check up on them following their massage appointment with me. My clients tend to be extremely loyal and stay with me for a long time. And I believe the reasons are because I really do genuinely care for them, my intuitive touch, my years of training and experience in the field, and my attention to detail in my therapy.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an education and training in orthopedic therapy, advanced myofascial release therapy by Dr. Barnes, pain management training, myoskeletal alignment therapy, IASTM therapy (instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation), guasha and graston fascial scraping, PNF and Mattes stretching, Acupressure, Chinese Medicine, Thai massage, and sports therapy injury including sports injuries.
