FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

MATH: I graduated from UT Austin with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Business Foundations Certificate. I have taken many math courses over the years throughout high school and college. I use these skills every day, and I would be happy to help you out in any of the following subjects: Geometry, Algebra I and II, Linear Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Differential and Integral Calculus, Sequences, Series and Multivariable Calculus, Vector Calculus, Differential Equations, Probability, Statistics, Discrete Mathematics. MUSIC: My grandma was a music teacher for many years, and she was my inspiration. I started playing music in elementary school when I joined the choir. Later, I joined band in middle school and learned to play the French horn. I stayed in band all the way up until my sophomore year in college (8 years). I took French horn lessons once a week, every week for an hour for seven years. Sadly, I had to quit playing in the band because of the intensity of the Electrical Engineering curriculum. I do play my guitar constantly though. I've been playing guitar for ten years. The amazing thing about music is that all the knowledge I've gained from studying French horn, voice, and music theory over the years transfers over to my guitar playing quite nicely. In a way, the more you learn about one instrument, the more you learn about all music. In high school, I was in the jazz band with my guitar for three years. Also, in high school, I was in the concert band, the marching band, and the full orchestra with my French horn. I joined the choir in my senior year of high school. I have also taken classes in music theory. At UT I played in a Jazz Combo my last semester, and took lessons from an instructor with a PhD in Jazz Performance. I have also been taking lessons weekly for over a year from another instructor who also has a PhD in Music Composition. Anyways, the moral of the story is: I love music, and I would absolutely love to teach you all I know. I can teach you about guitar or just music in general. If you are looking for beginner or intermediate lessons, look no further.
