Linda Stanton Savor Chef Make Every Meal Count!! About For the past 19 years, my focus has been providing meals for personal/private clients and also catering small events for current and new clients. Over the course of serving these clients and doing research on the health needs some of my clients and people I have yet to serve, I’ve recognized that the needs of many fall into different categories and are not being met. So my focus has shifted to providing cooking lessons specializing in every area from knife skills, to the creation of soups and sauces, to cooking roasting and braising, how to cook clean and healthy, and how to spring board recipes into several different meals. It is especially helpful for today's busy people. Sessions are held in the client's home so that we can utilize the tools that are available and so that the client will be in comfortable, familiar surroundings. I also have developed collections of information and recipes to help people who need specific food plans including Paleo, AIP-AutoImmune Protocol, Ketogenic, Vegetarian/Vegan, Mediterranean, Low Carbohydrate-Atkins, FODMAP, Low Sodium, Dairy Free, Nut Free. Catering services are still available for small events on a limited basis, so please feel free to request this service and I'll make every effort to provide this service for you. And if you want the food to feature one of the above food plans, I am happy to do so. Food has always been important in my life. From cooking for my family and individual clients to working with catering services in San Francisco and here in Austin food is my focus. It is the most satisfying experience to help people develop their own cooking skills and to also create food for clients that fulfills their needs and desires. Food is what brings people together. It's what sustains each of us, so it's important to me to make it delicious and satisfying.

I purchased a session with Linda as a birthday gift for my husband. We have both been wanting to eat healthier but have limited skill and time. And, what we could cook we were frankly getting a little bored with. We were also expecting our first baby at the time. So, we knew we'd be even shorter on time. Linda spoke with me at length prior to our session to understand our goals. She planned out several dishes for us to prepare together. I joined her for the grocery shopping (optional), which was super helpful as she taught me tips and tricks for healthy shopping and looking for quality. Linda spent almost 4 hours with us at the house, and it honestly flew by! Linda is disarming, talented and hilarious! We use the recipes and spices she left with us almost weekly (which is pretty good for new parents, I think!). We're looking forward to booking another session with her soon.

I haven't actually performed the cooking class with her but I purchased a certificate from her as christmas gift. Linda was absolutely fantastic. She was responsive, friendly, and helpful all along the way. I'm sure that when my mom redeems her gift she is going to love her personalized cooking class.

Linda did a fantastic job teaching my wife and I how to make several of our favorite soups. She came to our home and spent 3 hours helping us prepare 4 different soups. The entire 3 hour session was a smashing success. She provided tips about how to cut, chop, and prepare ingredients. She made suggestions on how to store and keep ingredients fresh for longer periods of time. She provided us with copies of the recipes we made. Even though we had never met Linda in person before our session, we felt like she was part of the family by the time our session was over. She is a fantastic cook, a very funny and friendly person. We would highly recommend Linda to friends and family. John & Connie in Round Rock

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am constantly researching, reading anything pertaining to cooking, whether cookbooks, industry magazines, or online information. And I continue to test recipes and flavor combinations.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

As a caterer I work with clients to provide a menu and service that suits their needs. As a teaching chef, I teach clients about ingredients, how to shop for the best ingredients even with working within a budget; how to use recipes, and how to love the kitchen and cooking.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I catered a Valentines day dinner party for 2 couples. The guests gathered at the kitchen bar and observed me as I prepared a menu of Small Plates, asking questions, commenting as the evening progressed. We started with a favorite of clients, A Sweet Tomato Galette with Bacon Ice Cream. The combination of the sweet and salty flavors of the galette pair well with the sweet, smoky ice cream.
