I've really enjoyed working out with Chris! He obviously knows what he's talking about, and he's friendly and approachable too. I love having him as my personal trainer and will definitely recommend him to anyone who asks. I especially appreciate that he follows science-based research, instead of just jumping on the bandwagon with whatever crazy workout trend or fad diet happens to be cropping up at any given time.

This is the first time I worked with a personal trainer. It was with a group which made it a lot less intimidating. Some of the other guys in the group would bring up issues or questions I hadn't thought about, but there was still a direct line to David Becker if I needed it. Speaking of David; it's obvious he cared about our success and education. He was very thorough with the information about diet, exercise, motivation, form and pushing the workouts without injuring yourself. He acknowledged every post in the group. My life, health, attitude and approach to fitness have changed almost beyond comprehension, all for the better of course. It may seem simple to most but I felt a little overwhelmed with all of the information out there about health and fitness. David broke it down into simple steps with easy instructions. It really was easy to stick to the plan, with all of the support. I am 47 and I wish I could have done this 10 years ago. I feel like I hit a reset button on my health and attitude. Strong start to a new beginning! Can't stop, won't stop, get it get it!!! Thank You to everyone who is responsible for making this possible. You are doing amazing things to peoples lives. With appreciation Rick Fielder

Ralph gave me a lot of great tips while I was working with him to complete my personal trainer certification. We concentrated on workouts for older adults with health issues and he was very attentive to the clients, going slow and starting out with very manageable exercises. He was flexible, always on time, and friendly.

You get more than just a trainer with Heath; you get a life coach, someone who will give you all the tools to help you achieve your goals. He doesn't push you too hard, but hard enough to make you challenge yourself. He also has the knowledge and experience to help you work through injuries or problems spots. He truly cares about what he does and it shows in every training session. I highly recommend him for anyone looking to improve their overall health & fitness.

Mandie's hybrid training approach is great for me. Having Mandie as my trainer has been a life-saver. I have always struggled with keeping up with my fitness goals, but she was able to help me build a plan that works for me and my busy work schedule. She keeps me motivated and on track toward my goals. I am seeing and feeling the results from these last couple months, and I look forward to our sessions every week. Thanks for your guidance, Mandie!

Jon helped me go from 24% to 11% body fat in just three months. We trained together 4-5 times per week in Austin, TX, and he wrote detailed workout regimens and nutrition plans for me. As I progressed, we strategized about how to achieve my goals, and he continually modified my workouts to ensure that I was getting the most out of every session. I cannot say enough good things about Jon Brown. He was very supportive and motivated me to get into the best shape I have been in since high school! Jon went well beyond what I expected out of a personal trainer. He was always on time or early. The quality of each session was fantastic. Whenever I felt like I wouldn't be able to make it to the gym, he would give me the encouragement I needed to push through a tough workout. Whenever I felt the urge to surpass my calorie recommendations, he would work with me to come up with healthy substitutes. I felt like I could text him anytime something came up, even if it was only tangentially health-related. I am truly grateful to have been his client, and I would not want to train with any other personal trainer at this point. I can honestly say that there is nothing that could have enhanced my experience. My new goal is to compete in a Tough Mudder, and I cannot wait to work with Jon to get into even better shape over these next few months. Needless to say, I would wholeheartedly recommend Jon Brown. He is affordable, effective, and he gets you the results you want!

We brought my young son to Doc for life coaching/counseling. He has severe depression. She has been a miracle worker in his life and he has made so much of an improvement. We see it everyday. Through it all we also have done marriage counseling with her. My husband and I were ready to get a divorce. We have been working with Doc on our marriage and have decided to stay married. They do not do insurance but she is worth every penny and a bargain at that. If she can get you in, I would jump at the opportunity to work with her. Not at all what I expected her to be. I have had several counselors through the years and always left the office feeling worse. She helps you face the issues but we have spent so much more time learning and laughing. She helps us all in my family keep life in perspective. Thanks Doc!

Beau is the ideal personal trainer. His ability to understand your goals and customizing the program to get you there is what kept me engaged. His workouts are dynamic and creative so they never get boring or repetitive. I saw and felt huge improvements in my 40s and he was also incredibly pivotal in my teenage son's sport-specific (baseball) workouts. Working with Beau got us results while also being highly educational about proper modern training techniques.

There are so many good things I can say about Jere' Webber: she is that kind of positive person who helps you feel good about yourself, helps you to feel that you are special -- and she is also a no-nonsense straight talker. This is a great combination. She has a very warm and friendly manner that helps me to feel right at ease even when discussing sensitive or deeply personal matters. Simply put, I recommend her without hesitation.

          About

I provide personal life coaching. I have good communication skills. The goal is to make every session valuable and helpful to you. Due to client satisfaction, most clients are referred by other clients. However, you may feel uncertain about choosing from a long list of life coaches or marriage counselors you don't know, which is understandable. Life Coaching is a highly effective approach to consciously creating your life. Life coaching provides tools and practices that can be incorporated immediately with significant and lasting results. Personal life coaches help you see the truth of your life from an entirely new perspective. A life coach listens and sometimes what you really need is to simply have someone listen. Together we can sort everything out! Your satisfaction is of utmost importance. Your initial session will be charged at half the normal single session price. Your appointment will be via phone and will start promptly at the agreed time. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost $120 for single sessions or $400 for a package of four sessions. Single sessions are charged before we begin. Packages are payable in advance. After the initial visit, it is recommended that you work with a professional life coach for a minimum of four additional sessions. Debit and credit cards are accepted for payment. Payments for sessions that have been completed are not refundable. If an appointment is cancelled or missed, a charge of 50% of an individual session will be charged to client's credit card.

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

          What is a health coach?

A health coach is a service provider you can hire to help you realize your wellness goals. You can hire a health and wellness coach to guide you through life changes, keep you focused on weight loss or fitness goals, help boost your mental health, and more. Many health coaches work with their clients for set periods of time as the client moves toward a measurable goal. Wellness coaches come from varying backgrounds, and may have different areas of focus depending on their education and training. Research potential coaches by reading their reviews, researching their academic and personal backgrounds, and learning about any certifications they have earned from coaching institutes. Often, health and wellness coaches sell coaching packages ranging from three to six months or longer, depending on the client’s needs. The average national cost for an individual health coach session ranges from $60 to $90, although prices may range as low as $30 or up to $130 or more, depending on your location and the coach.

          What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

          Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.

Although they are highly motivational and often can help clients achieve great results, holistic wellness coaches are not professional health care providers or registered dietitians. Different institutes and training centers provide certifications for holistic wellness coaching, so be sure to research your coach and read their reviews to understand more about their techniques and training.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
