FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In a phone conversation, I aim to learn more about the customer's needs, wants, expectations, or concerns. If a large family, for example, I get all of the names, relationships, etc., so that I can readily build rapport with each person. That helps to get more natural expressions, and a comfortable (even fun) photo shoot for them. Many times, customers tell me that someone in the group was dreading the photo shoot, but actually had fun!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was the yearbook photographer in high school. And I have loved photography every since. By realizing how much my own photos mean to me. Every time I look at a photo of a treasured time in my life, I remember that I have the opportunity to give that special experience to my clients. I especially love photographing the elderly.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
From birth to golden years, I love capturing the personality and essence of people. A few favorites: 4th trimester (0-3 months), seniors (HS or college), portraits of adults, the elderly, or multiple generations. Family portraits allow me to get various combinations of the larger family (several generations, grandparents with each child, all of the men, all of the women, all of the children, each smaller group, such as grown children and their children; etc.) I love 90th birthday parties! The love and admiration of family and friends, and the joy that the person being celebrated gets from the occasion are inspiring!
