We could not be happier with Ms. Jessy teaching our 7 year-old daughter how to play piano. I could tell from the very first lesson that it was going to be a good fit and it has been ever since. She connects well with kids without seeming like she's talking down to them or oversimplifying, and she is also very elegant and effective in conveying the things she needs to get across, whether it's something about musicality, theory, technique or physical form. She is also very responsive and professional. Wonderful environment for lessons as well. I play piano too (but do not have the same knack for teaching as she does). Teaching piano well is definitely not the same thing as playing piano well! :) We are so glad to have found her and highly recommend.

We have been taking piano lessons with Jessy for a little over a year. It has been so special to watch our son progress. Her calm informative teaching style has been a great fit. Most of all, we are so thrilled that he’s loving music! After watching a few of his recitals, our daughter also decided to take voice lessons too!

I am extremely grateful to have found Ms. Jessy. She is an absolute gem! My daughter, who is finishing 4th grade, has taken piano lessons from her for over 2 1/2 years now. Previously, she only had keyboarding classes that were not very impressive. With Ms. Jessy, my daughter is learning all aspects of becoming a young musician. Starting with the importance and etiquette of the hand and finger placement on the piano; to body posture and height at the piano; she is also learning piano theory (including note names, symbols, sounds, and the why behind certain musical pieces); to learning a number of piano songs that have increased in difficulty as her piano knowledge has grown; and sight reading music. In addition, Ms. Jessy annually holds fall and spring recitals for all her musical students to perform in front of friends and family. This has been a huge confidence builder opportunity for my daughter. She performs a solo piece at each recital and a duet with Ms. Jessy. During one recital, she performed a duet with another student of Ms. Jessy’s. Earlier this year, my daughter was able to take the 2026 TMTA Spring Theory Test at the UT Butler School of Music. This included written theory questions and also ear training. This was a big deal for my daughter to go to a college campus and she was prepared as she studied the theory test for months prior during her weekly lessons and home practice. She also received a medal due to her score. Taking lessons from Ms. Jessy, has allowed my daughter to become immersed in music, by learning many aspects of musical theory, learning about different composers, and increasing her musical skill abilities. Ms. Jessy has truly built a strong connection of engagement opportunities for all her students which is a very welcoming environment. She is extremely kind and gentle when teaching and is very supportive. She holds my daughter accountable in a very encouraging way, is thoughtful, and offers many different ways from singing the songs to tapping the beats to help my daughter learn new pieces and musical concepts. She’s a 10 out of 10 and we feel very blessed to be a part of her musical student family here in Austin.

Jessy helped my understand of music theory immensely. She’s a patient teacher who’s creative in her methods - worked with me where I was most able to learn and gave me room to struggle and figure things out. She helped me create a practice regimen and balanced practical music theory with fun songs and expanding my abilities. I was able to complete a full song with her help, after being stuck creatively for years. She’s also a lovely and talented person.
