FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Depends on the project! Every project is unique but usually, I'll start by finding out more about the context and intended purpose of the graphics and illustration. The target audience and medium in which the illustration are displayed are vital for developing effective communication. Then I'll send over some sketches and sometimes a "mood board" to help the client get a feel for the style direction I'm going for. Once the sketches are approved, I'll render the illustration in whatever medium or program fits the style. After that, there are one or two tweaks the client will suggest to make the illustration juuuuuust right. ;)
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been an artsy person— and when I was very young I was privileged enough to get access and instruction in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash. Lots of practice and a supportive network have helped launch my career as a full-time freelance illustrator and designer!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with lots of small tech startups here in Austin. Other clients include Huffy Bikes, McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, HP Enterprise, Colgate, Frost Bank, and Whataburger.
