I'm an Austin-based yoga teacher with over 6+ years of teaching experience and 10+ years of personal practice experience. I received my year-long training in Mysore, India with Sharath Jois and am one of five Authorized Level 2 Ashtanga yoga teachers in Austin. I previously taught at the University of Virginia, at various studios in the Washington DC area, and in Bali, Indonesia where I lived for 5 years. I now teach private clients both in person and online to individuals, families, and corporate clients in the Austin area. I specialize in Ashtanga yoga, which combines gentle stretching, targeted postures, and controlled breathing to promote flexibility, circulation, and strength. Modifications and variations are available to accommodate different levels of practitioners, making it accessible for beginners and adaptable for experienced practitioners. Never tried Ashtanga yoga? I have taken private online yoga classes with Catherine, and I adore her! I have practiced yoga for years, and since the pandemic, I prefer practicing in the privacy of my home. Working one-on-one with Catherine has been the perfect fit - she has a lovely, calming presence, she is incredibly knowledgeable, and she allows me the space to ask questions and work on things that I need to work on. My practice continues to evolve as I become stronger and more flexible, thanks to the support and guidance that I have received from Catherine, who I highly recommend!

Catherine has been a constant breath of fresh air for the last year she has been my instructor. I currently take online lessons with her and always feel refreshed and happier after our lesson. She is very personable and equally as knowledgeable. She also makes sure to keep the lesson fun and challenging. I look forward to our lessons every week. I would highly recommend her for anyone look for a yoga instructor!

Catherine is such an experienced, knowledgeable, and gifted yoga teacher. She embodies the practice she teaches and inspires her students to approach yoga with compassion for your own unique body and mind. She has a very calming presence and I highly recommend her as a teacher for all levels of yoga!

To be honest for me Ashtanga was always quite an intimidating practice. I was afraid I wouldn't even be able to do half the asanas so I never really started. Until I met Catherine and started practicing with her. Her approach to Ashtanga changed my entire view of this kind of yoga. There was non-judgement and such an ease to the way she teaches, also she has such a calming voice. I love that she constantly reminded me of the five even inhalations and exhalations for every pose because this kept me in close touch with my breath. Catherine also pays close attention to alignment - which I love. It means I can’t tune out while doing Ashtanga yoga and I like the deep focus. Her knowledge is immense and I appreciate her talking about her Mysore experience in India and how she found her way to Ashtanga. It's quite inspiring. What I also learned from Cat is that Ashtanga is a lifelong practice and that there isn’t a single part of my body or organ that ever feels left out of this practice.
