- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New clients begin with a fitness assessment to establish a start point for their training program. The assessment includes a brief questionnaire about their medical history. Heart rate measurements and weigh. Next, the client will perform a series of basic level exercises that test muscular strength, muscular endurance, balance, coordination and cardiovascular endurance. Upon completion of the assessment the client will perform a series of stretches to relax and recover.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am completing my associates degree in Kinesiology. I continuously research and study the latest information in regards to fitness and health to stay current and aware of new ways to improve my clients' health and fitness levels.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I developed a passion for fitness while I attended basic training for the Army. I learned to motivate others to better themselves and each other and as a result we became a better team and accomplished every task set before us. I relate this to personal training because as a trainer I am motivating, teaching, and pushing my clients as we work towards a common goal, a new level of health and fitness.
