FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
HEB PLUMBING works hard to keep our trucks fully stocked, customers never pay travel time for us to run material we should have on hand. The plumber doesn't get paid either, so your plumbing tech will keep basic materials or they loose time driving around town, not the customer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
No, I am a certified backflow plumber, Med gas Certified, and going to be certified next month to install fire systems in residential homes... not sure if this certificate will cover commerical buildings or not? I sure hope not...!!! I spend a lot of time in class rooms each year getting my continuing Ed certificates... And I do know large commerical buildings take a lot to keep up with. I already take classes 3 times a year, about every 3 months, and soon to be 4 times a year I get to look foward to class...yay...!!!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My uncle had a heart attack when I was 20, he's OK, but this one plumber kept on stealing tools, materials for the job, not working worth a darn & so on... With my uncle in the hospital, not much he could do about it... So I went out to set this guy straight... I feel like I got my tail whipped, but the guy left and never came back... So someone had to do this work, I knew nothing about plumbing and had to learn fast... So I broke out the books, was at the job site every day learning how to sweet copper, reading blue prints, learning how to run the back hoe, working a lot... Calling my uncle 10 times aday, asking other plumbers a ton of questions every hour, I even hired a plumber just to work with him... My uncle was about to have another heart attack by the time he was able to return to work, He said he was impressed, that he was sure Id screwed everything up big time... So I was a plumber, so my uncle said and Ive never stopped... my parents wanted me to go a different route, but they came around, I think???
