Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a force free dog trainer, versed in the four quadrants of operant conditioning. I have a strong understanding of learning theory and understand why the methods I use work and why other methods work but can be detrimental to the relationship you have with your dog. My favorite thing about dog training is seeing the light bulb go off in the dog's head. Once a dog understands what you want and how to get that magical click and treat, the training becomes that much more fun. It's a great feeling to see the relationship develop and grow between dog and handler.

Wonderful research based dog training. Rufus just loved it and really learned within a short time. Jim and I learned a lot from Marcella. It was very informative and effective.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am an approved AKC CGC Evaluator and proud member of The Pet Professional Guild. I am hoping to join APDT, go through Karen Pryor Academy, become a Trick Dog Training through Do More With Your Dog and earn my CPDT-KA.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Dog training isn't an overnight thing and our dogs don't learn behaviors in a heartbeat. It takes repetition, understanding of timing, knowledge of the value of your rewards and dedication. Patience is key and encouragement is a must. Our dogs need kindness, honesty, consistency and clear requirements.
