FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My speaking fee is typically based upon the number of hours that I am hired for an event with the exception of anything that is under an hour being billed at 15 minute increments. Depending on the location, there may be a travel fee involved. I offer a 10% discount off of my already affordable services to non-profits and try to work with a group's budget to make it a win-win for everyone. For budgeting, I help a client explore several options from various speaking lengths, books sales, non-profit discounts, sponsorships, and collaborations with other groups. Repeat customers or clients who schedule multiple events are eligible for additional discounts.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to speak with them over the phone in order to really hear what they are wanting in a speaker for their event. The conversation is helpful for both parties so that we can get to know one another and see if it will be a good fit. It is an exchange of questions, ideas, and options to consider before I send them a final quote. The brainstorming process with the client is exciting to me because I love to explore all of the possibilities as to how we can make their event great! For budgeting, I help a client explore several options from various speaking lengths, books sales, non-profit discounts, sponsorships, and collaborations with other groups. Once an agreement has been made, then I am also able to send a tentative outline of the talk for approval.
