FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had tremendous acne at a very young age. I found a book by Micheal Maron called Makeover Miracles. I am 51 so when I was 13 years old you didn't see alot of movie stars and famous folk without their makeup on. This book was at the Army Navy Store and I picked it up and saw Phyllis Diller, Wonder Woman and many other well known people without the usual star makeup. They looked very different and I thought if I can learn how to do makeup I can look better too. I squealed and my mom promptly purchased the book. I went on to study makeup through theatre at school with the ongoing support of my drama teacher. Graduated at 17, went to college for business and worked as a professional makeup artist for a well known photographer. Later I met Maurice Stein from Cinema Secrets in Hollywood and studied with him over the years and continued to learn and grow and achieve my dreams through the constant evolution of style, makeup and a little luck. Today all these years later I am living my dream and working with a great group of talent.

- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure to allow for enough time to fully enjoy the journey while getting prepared and pampered. If you are looking for education a step by step approach works well. Maybe, start with learning a basic look and then have a session or two to build up you own GO TO LOOK BOOK OF STYLES. Make sure you advise anyone helping you with your application process of any allergic reactions. Lastly, as a client you should always be on the lookout for " Makeup Application Without Cross Contamination". We go to great lengths to make sure we are using best practice protocols and not double dipping, etc.. It is so important to be aware of what your artist is doing to stay clean and safe. Ask your provider beforehand what they do to make sure they are using No Cross Contamination Techniques.
