Introduction: I teach aquatic self-rescue skills for children 6 months-6 years. Children under 15 months learn to get to and maintain a float until someone can get to them. Children over 15 months learn a swim-float-swim sequence, so they can get to the side or steps to safety. All lessons are private and one-on-one.
Give your child an extra level of protection by having them learn to rescue themselves if they fall into the water.
I am also Red Cross certified to teach traditional swim lessons. Children and adults go through the levels of the "learn to swim" program, learning stroke refinement, breath control, water safety, treading and more.
Additionally, I am trained in the "Swim with Autism" program and teach children with autism. These children require specialized techniques that help them learn in a way that they can process it. I am excited to be offering lessons to this special population.

I started my daughter with Ilise when she was 11 mos. She is now almost 4 and I have her learn/"refresh" with Ilise every summer. When we go to a pool, we always receive comments on how "great" she (rescue) swims in the water followed by questions about ISR. The skills (muscle memory) she has learned are so incredibly important!!
Ilise is a wonderful teacher. She is very professional and caring while helping them learn. My daughter LOVES "Ms. Ilise!" She now doesn't want to leave lessons. And, I'm so very thankful to her for the skills she's taught my daughter.

Ilise has taught my daughter and son survival lessons from 15 and 18 months, respectively. She has the perfect balance of compassion and disaplend that it takes for a child to learn the swim float swim sequence. At 4 my daughter is now a fish in the water and can swim anywhere in our pool. My son, who is 22 months can swim to me and float when he needs too. I expect he will be swimming next summer after lessons w Ilise with no problems. It has been the best investment in my children's safety I could ever make.

We have used Ilise for ISR lessons for at least 4 years. Our son (now 6) and daughter (now 2 1/2) love her. Even though they aren't always happy with the challenges of learning, they look forward to going to Ms Ilise's. They both enjoy swimming and we as parents feel better knowing that they can swim.
