Bob Pelham and his associate from Flood Kings came to my house to examine the water damage from an overflowing sink. The water had overflowed for an hour or more and flowed under a hardwood floor. The area impacted included a corridor, a dining room, and a portion of a living room and wet bar. Several days had passed since the water intrusion and the floors were cupped. Bob and his associate came equipped with water extraction equipment consisting of flat panels which were taped to the floor and tied through hoses to a suction fan. A dehumidifier was placed near the fan. The fan drew air from under the floor removing moisture. Bob and his associate checked moisture levels every two or three days until the moisture level reached the normal reading and the panels were removed after two weeks. The cupping is completely gone in most areas affected and is greatly reduced in the remaining areas. It is likely I will not need to do any repair work to the floors. The chance for mold growth to occur was largely eliminated by the air passing over the underfloor until dry. I cannot say enough about the quick response of Bob and his associate from Flood Kings and the thorough job they did to insure my satisfaction. I was convinced before I called them that the floors were ruined and would have to be replaced. My wife's mother had passed away the night before the flood and we had several house guests for the funeral by the time I found out about Flood Kings. We could not rip the floors out at that time and deal with all that goes along with replacing and refinishing floors. I was just hoping that his process would eliminate mold and buy us some time until we needed to replace the floor. I was elated to see the results and to know that at most, I may need to do some light surface work to a portion of the floor. Thanks Bob and Flood Kings.

I am writing to express my gratitude at the excellent work you and your team did after the recent damage I sustained following the leak from a hot water heater. You responded promptly and the work you performed was very professional and thorough. I would not hesitate whatsoever to use your services again in the future or recommend you to anyone else needing the same ser-vices.

Hired on Thumbtack

I am so glad to have found Flood Kings again. I had a great experience with them last year when we had all the rain in May and glad I found them again this year when rain found a way into the front room again. They were the first to respond on Thumbtack and came out the same day and sat up equipment to dry out the room. I will keep their number but hopefully will not need to use it again any to soon. Thanks Flood Kings!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We use the Exactimate software for cost estimates, job descriptions and direct insurance billing. Exactimate software sets the price adjustments for labor, materials and is commonly used by a majority of insurance adjusters in the US.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always leaned towards the service industry. When an oppurtunity arose to bring aboard serveral key people who have well over 25 years of expereince with water mitigation work I took it and started Flood Kings in 2007.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

The most common work we do is water extraction from residential flooding caused by an overflown toilet, broken supply line or faulty hot water heater. We extract water from carpet, wood, laminate and tile flooring materials.
