Excellent work! Juan & Alex were professional and knowledgeable the items I needed repaired & installed (shower rods, train rack, door hing adjustments). They had all the tools - especially to install into tile, were on time, worked quickly, & cleaned up well. I am very happy with the work & I will definitely hire Juan & his crew again!

My bathroom floor was a challenge! I told Brent he would be judged on the difference I could see in the before and after. My bathroom floor and shower look new. My 20 year old tile and grout was incredibly clean like when I first moved in. I highly recommend Omniclean and will use them on a more regular basis to insure my tile and grout remain clean and fresh. The price was quite reasonable much less than some of the big name companies. I am so pleased. I didn’t take before pictures and wish I had because it is amazing

Two of my bathroom floors were rotted and falling through. Lowell came over the same day I talked to him to give me a quote. His bid was far better then anyone else's as well he sounded more knowledgeable. Him and his crew came two days later. They demoed both bathroom floors and rebuilt, sealed and tiles all in one day. The next day I saw that one bathroom had some grout crumbling. I called Lowell and he came out the next day to repair the one spot that had got wet before the grout set. It looks wonderful and I love that all my bathrooms are able to be used. I will be using Lowell for more repairs and would recommend him to everyone.

There is nothing bad to say about this company. Carlos showed up on time to clean the carpets and sofa/chairs in our office waiting room, and did a FANTASTIC job. He was so thorough, took his time, and worked very hard. The sofa and chairs looked new, and the carpets were brighter and smelled so good. His prices are very reasonable. We had him back to clean the carpets in the office next door, as well as to clean the tile and grout in our restrooms. Will definitely use him again!

Al Ozuna with Detail and Design was very professional with the entire process of replacing our kitchen and bathroom tile. He asked us numerous questions about all aspects of what we wanted done. He gave numerous options also. He brought samples of the tile and grout to our home so we could choose the right colors for our home. He explained the process and timeline for the work. He even finished on time! Later, He installed a new shower pan and replaced the subfloor and tile in our master bathroom. We would definitely hire him again.

Cesar was very professional from the very beginning. Answered my request for a tile guy promptly. Came out measured and gave me a very competitive bid. He was very helpful in picking out the grout color and picked up supplies I had not yet purchased. I would definitely use Saucodo Tile Company again and will recommend to all my friends with tiling needs.

Roberto did all the flooring in my house. 95% laminate, 5% tile. Everything came out great! We had an amazing experience working with Roberto, he was very professional, available at all times, and willing to help us with every question we had. He completed the work on time, and he delivered everything we had originally agreed on and more! I definately recommend working with him. I also bought the laminate from him, and everyone that comes to my place loves it. He did a great job.

We found Alex after talking to four tile installers. More than a tile installer, Alex is a true master of the craft. He installed approximately 180 sq ft of floor tile in the bathroom and entry area as well as 30 sq ft of wall tile on the fireplace. In both cases he faced challenges with structural imperfections to skillfully create a perfect quality job. He focused on the work with the passion of a true artisan. Alex is friendly and easy to work with. It was actually very nice to have him in our home for the five days he was doing the job. The skill Alex uses is second to none and I would easily use him again.

Replaced tiles look great and they were able to match the grout very closely....our major concern was that it not look noticeable that a few tiles were replaced, and it does not...overall very pleased with the work

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
