Can't say enough good things about Nate, his company and his employees. Our crew was running ahead of schedule on moving day, and Nate called to confirm that we were okay with an earlier start time. The young men on our job were very polite, professional and respectful, especially with my elderly MIL who was the "movee ". They finished the job as quickly as possible, no dings, no breakage, and the price was exactly what was quoted. AND, in addition to this move, Nate has been a huge help to additional family members in helping to facilitate the Great MIL Downsize and Migration of 2017 by helping my niece coordinate a truck rental and loading crew for all the excess furniture going to another destination. PLUS he helped me locate a local business for long distance shipping of a fragile family heirloom. If you need moving help of any kind, call Nate!

I never take the time to leave feedback, but I feel it is well deserved in this case. No other company could beat the price I was quoted. The customer service that I received from Frank and his team is the reason why I will definitely recommend this company to my friends and family. Genesis Moving didn't just provide great customer service. They truely went above and beyond to meet my needs. Frank was awesome! He responded to all of my questions almost instantly. His team of movers were right on time and ready, but unfortunetely I hit some snags that morning and wasn't ready to start. Instead of giving me no choice but to start at that time they asked me what time they should try back and totally accomidated the move around my schedule. The two young movers were very polite, professional and worked hard to get the job done. Thank you!

I looked into probably 10 movers and this one was cloest to me and had the best price. I was expecting a hidden fee or milage, etc. Nothing! While other companies were wanting added on costs beyond the per hour quote, this company was upfront and included tax. It was storming and the 2 guys that came out were happy, fast, and never stopped moving! My friend was moving the same day and the company she went with said they were late, they even charged her for an extra hour which was spent setting up their music at each location. They also added the cost for mileage and such. In spite of the heavy rain, these guys wrapped, disassembled, moved, unpacked and reassembled my furniture. The only cons is they forgot 1 screw on my desk, there was a line of damage on my entertainment center where something got whacked and the fake wood backing on my desk hutch (same cheap backing you see on bookcases), was torn in one corner. Given that this backing hangs over awkwardly, I cannot really hold it against them. Plus is it in the back, so with my organizer box, no one sees it. All in all, these guys did a great job. Even rounded down to the nearest hour. Will for sure be using them again next time and recommending them to everyone.

From the set up until the sign off, everyone was helpful and professional. The two movers were on time, courteous, and careful with what they moved. The last stop was to a consignment store where on of the movers even helped another lady load up what she had just purchased. Very nice!

Excellent job. Absolutely flawless in a long-distance move. They were on-time, productive, responsive, and careful with my belongings, not breaking or damaging a single thing and being very sure to cover and tie down everything. Very friendly and diligent. A+

Despite the heat, our movers kept trucking and got what I thought would be a two hour job done in an hour. Amazing.

I estimated 2 hours for moving a short distance and the two guys completed it in less time. They were very careful with my vintage furniture and not so well packed boxes. They arrived on time and were very courteous and quick. i would highly recommend Big Easy to family and friends for moving.

I’ve moved several times in my life with several different movers. 1Source beats them all by far! I shopped around a lot for my move from Texas to Kentucky, 1source wasn’t the lowest bid but one of the most reasonable. Andy handled the booking process. He’s a very personable fellow, fun to talk with and put me at ease during a stressful time. When his crew showed up they were super friendly and polite ... really swell guys. They started quickly, assessed the task, asked a few questions and got right to work. They moved fast and worked great as a team. They really hustled! They wrapped everything, dismantled furniture, were very careful and caused no damage to walls or floors. This was a long distance move that had to be timed just right. They stayed in contact with us and arrived a half hour after us ... perfect timing. The move in was just as efficient. No scratches or dings on our stuff. These guys are excellent. Look no further.

Moving is consistently among the most stressful events we engage in. Having personable, patient and professional movers is the only way to curb the stress and manage the unforeseen (while maintaining your sanity). I was a little nervous because this was my first "Miura" move... but they definitely did not disappoint... I encountered a few major glitches during my move, and these guys hung in there with me until the job was done. They're customer-"centric" and my new favorite moving company. Superb job guys!

First let me give you a little background on my moving experiences so that you can understand where I'm coming from when I say "AWESOME SERVICE!!". I come from the military and have always been use to having all my moves scheduled for me-from the packing, to the moving etc and if there were any problems I filed a claim and someone dealt with all the legalities. So if you too have had this done for you over the years then you understand the headache of having to now do it from start to finish..... With all that said, Jonathan and his team did an amazing job with my long distance move! He was professional at all times, communicated everything in detail and left no room for uncertainty. He even offered to come out Saturday evening to help me with part 1 of my local move when there was some problems with my help which he didn't have to offer to do so. Day of the move: Communicated when they were in route and when they were 20 minutes out. Started on time, moved quickly while making sure to treat all my belongings as if it were their own. While on the road to my destination they communicated with me the entire time..... In a nutshell my experience was very pleasant and I will definitely use Harder's Movers for all my moves in the future!! Hire them you will be happy you did!!!

Mr. True is true to his name. He did everything promised and more. I required some last minute additions to the work I was originally quoted and he willingly stayed extra long to complete the jobs at a reasonable price. He will be the first person I call when I need more work done.

I had to move from a small town all the way to Dallas. These guys came with their truck from Austin to load my stuff, drove to dallas, and unloaded it. It was long distance and they had an amazing price for all of it. They were professional, knowledgeable, hard-working, and very nice. They packed my stuff well and nothing was damaged. Definitely would recommend them to others. Thanks for the help UR Moving Buddy!

They were on time, worked very hard the entire day with only a short lunch break, and they were personable. Very flexible in helping me pack my art work and my husband says that he cannot believe that they fit all of our stuff into our two storage units as it is stacked so efficiently in there like a JENGA puzzle. He said they knew what they were doing. The person that called me to set up the move really tried to understand what scenario of # of days and # of movers, etc. would be the best deal for me and I felt he was on my side.

I hired Clydesdale Movers to handle my move from San Antonio to the Houston area. The team arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) and had everything loaded and ready to go within about 3 hours. They arrived at the destination before I did and had everything unloaded into the house and garage. I was able to handle payment over the phone with a credit card. They were careful with moving and loading everything. Nothing was damaged or missing when I arrived. I was especially pleased with their service since I only had a week to find a moving company, get packed and move out. And it was a holiday weekend when I moved. I would certainly hire Clydesdale Movers again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great moving company.

In case this is too long of a review, I'll start off by saying I HIGHLY recommend Legendary Moving. I hired them to move all of my stuff from storage pods placed onsite to my new apartment. Since I didn't have a confirmed time when the pods were going to be delivered, I couldn't give Cameron an exact time; however, he was very flexible with my schedule and stayed in touch with me throughout the day of delivery. Cameron and a helper showed up on time, moved everything with care, read the box labels and put the boxes in the corresponding rooms (I've had other movers who haven't done that in the past), set up furniture (tables, bed, etc.) that was taken apart previously, and even made suggestions on how to arrange furniture to give the most space. They finished ahead of schedule too. Amazing job!

The guys of Get-a-Grip Movers were friendly, timely and really such an ease to work with. They were attentive to the items being moved and constantly checked in and asked questions along the way to ensure everything was packed and transported safely. They made moving, a historically stressful and long experience, into a flawless and pain-free jaunt across town. In no time at all everything was loaded and unloaded allowing us the rest of the day to start the next phase, unpacking. If you're looking for movers, look no further.

Excellent pricing system. They aren't going to scam me with hourly rates, materials costs, travel time and fuel charges. I am getting a flat rate of what the job will cost and not have to pay a penny more, regardless of how long the movers take. There's no "estimates", I know what I am going to have to pay before the movers start, no guessing. Plus the nice guy on the phone said they were a new start up company so I'm glad I can help give them business, new companies tend to work harder to build their rep.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
