We originally posted a review (with photos) of the poor / incomplete service from this company, and being WAY overcharged for services which were stated in writing as being included in the coupon price. After our review was posted, I got a very ugly phone call from the owner. He wanted to argue about my review. I'd contacted him BEFORE leaving the review, trying to explain that we were very unhappy - and give him a chance to fix the situation - but he'd just hung up on me.Now that I had posted the review & several photos of the poor job they'd done, he had LOTS to say. It all consisted of hostile insults, so I ended the call.About a week later he called again. He said he would refund our money, but ONLY after I removed our review. He wasn't nice about it, and it was obvious he still didn't care about the problems he'd caused for us. Still, I told him that I appreciated his taking responsibility, and that I would CHANGE my review once we had confirmation a full refund had been completed. We'd been overcharged FAR above what was stated on our coupon, "included" services had not been performed at all, and yet we were charged extra for those. Our carpet was left in worse shape than before, and we'd had to hire & pay another company to fix it. We were then treated with total disrespect when we attempted to resolve things. So, we felt & feel that just deleting it was dishonest. We felt that editing to say we were not happy with their service, BUT that they'd taken responsibility and given us a refund (plus a higher star rating) would be honest and fair.I DID remind him that my daughter's wedding was imminent (he knew that guests were why we'd had the carpets cleaned). I said I would do my best; but might not have time for non-wedding-essentials until it was over. Just a few days later, I received a voice mail. In it he was as rude and condescending as ever. He said he was angry we had not yet altered the review (the refund was pending in our account but had not yet even cleared). He also said that he was going to contact his lawyer (to what possible purpose, I have no idea and he did not say). I can only suppose it was intended as a scare tactic. As a paralegal, I know we had/ have done nothing actionable; we were the wronged parties and entitled to state our opinion of the performance & customer service rendered by his business (frankly, regardless of whether there was a refund or not). To us, this is just further evidence of his complete lack of respect for his customers as human beings whose lives are affected by his poor business practices. Perhaps if he spent his time earning a reputation for outstanding service and happy clients, then maybe a single bad review would not be such a big deal; more likely it wouldn't happen at all.So, as promised, here is my amended review: the carpet cleaning services we received were incomplete and left our carpets looking the same and smelling worse, we had a coupon stating what the charge would be but it was not honored, the owner was by turns dismissive, angry and manipulative in his response to our dissatisfaction and honest review... but we DID end up getting a refund in the end. Two stars instead of just one for doing what was right; no higher for the way in which it came about.
