About
My name is Benji Tompkins and I am a certified dog behaviorist. I grew up in Colorado and now live in Arlington. Training dogs has been a major part if my life ever since I could walk, whether it was our family dog, or the neighbors.
After college I worked in restaurants and bounced around the corporate world for many years but my love for dogs and people always has been at the heart of who I am. My approach to training has always been more about helping the humans as the care givers learn the leadership skills to teach their own dogs. If I train your dog and hand them back to you without giving you the skills to train and maintain you're own dog then I have failed as a trainer. I don't focus soley on sit, down, come, stay, heel. I teach humans how to communicate with their dogs so they can build a relationship that's founded on trust, respect, and love!
I do my best to listen to my clients concerns and help bridge the gap between them and their dogs. As a dog dad myself I understand how important your 4 legged kids are to you and I will treat every client as if they were my own dog.
I encourage you to visit my website for more information.

When Benji came in he was very professional and addressed our issues right away. He listened and gave ideas without hesitation. Prices he quoted were spot on with other trainers. I just got a very good vibe from him compared to speaking to other trainers. Huskies are wound up tight and need appropriate handling. We have found a diamond in him.

Benji is knowledgeable, patient, and clearly experienced—but what really stood out to me was Benji’s candor. I appreciated the directness, honesty, and sense of humor throughout the process. Benji gave me straightforward, practical guidance that made a real difference, and I felt more confident and capable after our session. Originally I wanted a package, but things changed financially overnight. I really appreciated Benji’s understanding in this regard. Benji went over dog behavior, giving me deeper insight into my puppy. Highly recommend!

This was only our first meeting with Benji and my perception is that this is going to be an excellent experience all around. He is knowledgeable and friendly, and made an immediate impact on how we relate to our dog. He got results so fast from her, while being remarkably kind and loving to our dog and showing me all the ways that I contribute to my dog's anxiety and subsequent less-than-ideal behavior. I'm thrilled. Will post additional information as our success increases. :)

Benji has been amazing! He truly knows what he's doing and enjoys what he does. Very great at teaching the humans how to effectively build a bond and train. From day one he's been amazing. Saw results after the first visit and it's just gotten better and better. I'm SO glad that I chose him to help me and my family get the best out of our puppy! I couldn't be more grateful to have him work with us. He's cool calm and collected, and I love his training style. If you want a quality dogtrainer, Benji is the way to go!

I am a certified dog behaviorist. I have taken courses in ethology from animal behavior college. I have studied under many great behaviorists such as Brad Bevill and Robbie Estille.
