FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Construction was my start as a teenager as new construction framing and some HVAC help. By 18 years old, I started as a helper under Burleson family of tile professionals with JE Scogins and Oscar Scogins. My apprenticeship continued after their retirement over the years with other Scogin family members learning the old customs of tile finishing and installation. By 1998, I established Wilson Tile to expand on my passion for flooring installation and design. I have worked alongside several more tile professionals over the years completing new construction and new installation projects to remodels in both homes and commercial settings.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Showers and floors. The most frequent requests are remodels. Out-of-date tile, carpet, or vinyl on floors will drive most people to update. On the other hand, mold or loose tiles in the shower will be the most urgent need.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Working in conjunction with a wonderful home interior decorator, the full bathroom remodel with added walls, pocket doors, ball and claw tub, seamless glass on top of new pony wall entrance to an extended shower with two separate shower heads, and impressive glass/marble strips that your eyes will follow around this spacious room filled with natural light. It is set to feature in a contest for Interior Decorators currently with great reviews building daily.
