FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm constantly studying the work of photographers I admire. I read books on photography and am enrolled in the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) continuing education program. In addition I learn something from every session, the feedback from clients, different situations presented by their requests and challenges those present all lead to a continuing education.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Portraits, Special Occasions, Event and Promotional photography is what I specialize in. Basically anything with people in the shot. Why? Because I love people. I love giving people an experience they don't easily forget, making them feel special and the center of attention. I insist that all my clients spend their session feeling like a model. My runners and assistance do everything for you, from holding an umbrella over to keep the sun off, fetching you water or anything else you need to be comfortable. Your only job is to look and feel fabulous. My only job is to reflect that feeling in your images.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check the portfolio of the photographer you are thinking of hiring. Every photographer has their own style. Some only shoot with natural light, some only with flash, some with a combination of both. Some specialize in a particular look, some only shoot outdoors. Think through what your want from your photography session - not just good pictures but what you actually want them to look like. If it is a portrait session ask about hair and makeup - does the photographer work with a Make Up Artist (MUA) and what are their charges? Think about props, can the photographer provide them or do you need to provide them? Answering these questions in advance will provide you with a better experience.
