FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Fees reflect my expertise and skillset, delivering a professional end product with a two-year warranty on labor.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
These are the things I request from a customer to provide them with a more accurate quote: 1. Measure the exact height of the ceiling. 2. Measure the length of each wall. 3. Forwarded pictures of close-ups of the wall's texture, of each wall in a single frame to show doors, windows, vanities, piping, and close-ups of molding and trimming. 4. Work agreement signed along with a down payment, which is half the cost of the installation. The remaining balance is paid after the job is completed. If the walls are textured, those walls will first need to be skim-coated for the wallcovering to lay flat and the seams to lock down to ensure your wallcovering lasts for years on end. Skim-coating takes additional time and adds to the overall cost; however, in return, the paper manufacturer warrants for any defects post-installation, and I provide a two-year warranty on the installation itself. Installing wallpaper on a textured wall is beneath professional standards. If a customer hasn't picked out their paper/pattern yet, I always suggest them visit Leland's Wallpaper to get exposed to the many options and patterns to choose from to get a feel of the many textures and sheens, something the internet doesn't offer. Leland's is the biggest wallpaper store in all of North Texas and comes with their very own designer to help pick a pattern that goes with your existing decor. Ask for Melissa, owner and designer. Melissa is always happy to help. By contrast, all wallpaper vendors you find online do offer samples for about $5 each on average per sample. Each sample can take weeks to arrive in the mail, and at $5, it adds up. You can save time and money by seeing all that's available in person and experiencing the many different kinds of wallcoverings so you get a feel for the coatings, laminations, thicknesses, sheens, and textures. I further suggest people go with pictures of their current home decor, maybe a couple of the rooms they're wanting to cover, and the wall measurements. Melissa is a great resource and talent, and I encourage everyone to take advantage of her expertise. I couldn't speak more highly of Melissa and Leland's.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
