FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always loved to draw and paint, was drawn to textiles and typography, thought logos and posters were artforms. When I was young, my father told me to choose a career I felt a connection to, do something I loved so I could do it for as long as possible. I was very lucky to have that kind of support and encouragement, and feel like even though I didn't know what I'd do with my BFA when I began college, I have used it in a most engaging, fulfilling way.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work primarily with print media: brochures, magazines, billboards, annual reports, as well as elements of advertising such as logo design and illustration (pen and ink, watercolor, scratchboard, and some others).
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Earlier this year I created a watercolor illustration for a NICU fundraising event. I used the illustration on all event materials from save the date cards and invitations to large sponsor posters at the event. The result was really beautiful and while the cause was worthy on it's own, it makes me feel good to contribute to the success of a fundraising event by giving it a polished, eye-catching look.
