FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Standard hourly: $100/hr + $25 editing fee. Each hour produces 25-30 fully edited photos that the client chooses from a gallery of proof.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently in school studying international development and communications. Under communications, my focus is journalism, and specifically photojournalism. I work for my university's newspaper as the Photo Editor. We are an award-winning paper and my work there is incredibly important and teaches me something new every day. I attend journalism conventions where I go to photography workshops and learn all about new equipment and techniques.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
One of the biggest things I wish people knew about photography is you don't have to hire someone from a professional studio to get great pictures. Often, hiring college students with photography and art experience for your photography needs creates much better results for a fraction of the price of professional studios. Students often have much more passion for the craft, not yet jaded or disillusioned by the whole ordeal. Hire a college kid- help out a starving artist and student for a fraction of the price of big, impersonal studios and companies.
