FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was out of necessity. My business partner and I were in the mortgage industry when it crashed in 2008. We had to reinvent ourselves and were functionally homeless for almost 4 years before starting our waste management company. We started out securing jobs via Craigslist before we made enough money to start marketing and as they say, the rest is history. in over 4+ years, we have easily removed over 5 million pounds of scrap metal/trash, often using only myself and my business partner, who are not spring chickens to begin with!! But if you want something bad enough, and your desire to succeed matches that want, you can make beautiful things happen!! We are so entrenched in the waste management industry that we are now looking at this from a generational standpoint and have started grooming our children to one day run the day to day operations of the company itself. What makes me proud is that now my children know the value of what we offer and also the value of what many people throw away on a daily basis. It truly is astonishing to see the amount of debris generated on a daily basis in our line of work.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Trash/debris removal mostly. Mostly residential, smaller level debris removal jobs, though we have had several businesses contact us via Thumbtack to use our service. They are now repeat customers that we count amongst our "friends."
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research from a pricing standpoint, but also look for companies that offer great customer service. Larger establishments tend to sacrifice customer service for the bottom line approach, which is great in theory but doesn't leave the customer feeling like they were important. We like to treat our customers as if they're a member of the family, and there have been instances where friendships have been formed through repeat business as a result of great customer service.
