Juan and his crew did a wonderful job with our project. We had a variety of things on our checklist (painting, carpentry, plumbing etc and they did a great job with it all. Juan communicated with me promptly and gave me a fair estimate. He and his crew were very timely and always professional. I will definitely be hiring them again. I am so happy to have discovered them!

Mr. Pichardo and his team did a fantastic job. From removing old siding, installing new siding, frame repair, sealing the perimeter of a garage that leaks, painting, sheetrock, gutters, complex pllumbing work (running new lines-pvc/copper, valves, etc). He is good at finding solutions when there is not always an easy fix. I've dealt with quite a few construction related contractors over the years and I would recommend him to anyone, without hesitation. He also plays guitar and sings very well. Five stars all day.

We originally called for gutters..ended up with a fresh coat of paint for the entire house and a beautiful covered patio of my dream! The job took less than three days and the price was reasonable and affordable. Butler Construction was the most professional contractor I have ever hired. His team was awesome! He really cared about what I wanted and assured me that I would love it. He was there everyday on the site making sure everything was done to the utmost quality. I didn't have to address any issues. I look forward to working with Mr. Butler again..he was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend for any project! He turned my ugly duckling to a new home I can now be proud of. Thank you Jim Butler!

I have worked with three different contractors on various projects over the past four months...this gentleman (Josh) was a pleasure to work with and I will be calling him again for additional services. He reviewed the area of concern on a Sunday, gave me a quote and had the job finished in less than 3 hours at the price he quoted.

Frank was the first of several contracted me about this bathroom wall and floor tile project for my adult son's home in Garland. As a retired building contractor with 40+ years of experience, I am very pleased with the professionalism that Frank and his crew demonstrated as reported to me by my son Charlie. Well done Frank Bonilla.

Wilfredo and his team worked for us over the weekend putting in long hours to finish a last minute project. We contacted him on Thursday and they came Saturday and Sunday to paint our 3500 sq ft office. I was blown away by their speed and accuracy. I am thrilled with the results and will continue to use The World of Painting for all my painting needs moving forward.

After attempting to contact 4 different contractors, all were referred by word of mouth, and none of them responding I was about over it. A friend told me about Thumbtack so I opened the app and entered my info. I immediately had 4 responses one of which was from Carlos. In his initial response he stated that he was eager to work. After reading his reviews I set up a time to meet. He was on time and we talked about the job of putting in laminate floors. Throughout the installation Carlos gave me updates on the progress. I was so pleased with his work that I’m going to have him back to do some additional work.

Yes Home Remodeling did an excellent job. I have used many contractors and worked in the industry long ago. Contractors can be a make or break when it comes to any project and extremely difficult to deal with. That wasn't the case with these guys. Punctual responsive and hard solid workers. I will be using them again for sure

Top quality job, completely professional crew, trustworthy and fairly priced. I would suggest getting bids from other contractors and then calling Raul. Not only will he give you a better price, but he will deliver. He and his crew completely transformed three different buildings for us on our horse ranch. They also worked through conditions that most people would not even consider working in.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.
