I hired David Gaona (GFilms) to film a 2-camera video of a live performance held inside a recording studio, which simultaneously recorded the audio. I knew what I wanted to accomplish and how I wanted the final product to look, and David got it for me. He filmed it, sync'd the audio and edited it into a final 3 minute marketing tool. I liked his camera angles and his invisibility on the set. I mean, I knew he was there and working, but he was never a distraction. He on time, he promptly worked with all my requests and I have nothing negative to say about him. On the contrary, after that video, I hired him for a second video we are almost finished editing! I recommend David.

Can't believe it for the money. I can't believe I was able to get my video done with the level of quality that Zech was able to deliver. I thought I would just get a cheap editor to chop my video together, but he has gone way above my expectations and must have spent a lot of time on the graphics and color adjustments because my video came out looking like film quality, to me anyways. I am so happy I chose to hire Zech for this job and if I need help in the future I am definitely going to be using him. He was able to give me additional instruction for future audio and video capture that will really help my future projects.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

    • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
