FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I give you a clear price before any work starts, so there are no surprise charges at the end. Once I know what the problem actually is, I quote a flat rate for the job rather than running a clock. If I find something else along the way, I check with you before doing anything extra. Remote sessions cost less than on-site visits since there is no travel involved, so if your issue can be handled remotely I will tell you that up front. I will also tell you honestly when a repair is not worth the money compared to replacing the machine.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I ask a few questions to understand what is actually happening: when it started, what changed, and what you have already tried. That usually narrows things down before I even arrive. Then I confirm the scope and the price with you, do the work, and test everything together with you before I wrap up so you can see it is genuinely fixed. You get a plain-language explanation of what was wrong and what I did about it, not a pile of jargon. You work directly with me from start to finish, not a rotating help desk.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications, plus Acronis certification for backup and disaster recovery. Beyond the certifications, most of what I know is hands-on: I have supported IT systems across a retail network of roughly 100 locations, which covers everything from failing hardware and network outages to security issues. I also hold a master's degree in accounting and auditing, which helps when I am working with small businesses and need to understand their operations, not just their equipment.
