Bonjour! I am Anson Cadogan and I am a French teacher by profession. I have been a teacher for over 30 years at Elementary, Middle and High Schools and also worked for several years at the Alliance française de Trinité et Tobago.
In addition to general instruction in French, I am now offering AP examination practice for students preparing to sit the College Board exam.
I make my sessions fun and interactive so that learners use a variety of skills to become familiar with, or improve their mastery of the French Language.
Session will be conducted via Zoom.

Our two daughters took private Frenchlessons with Anson. I am from France but the girls were not comfortable learning with their father :) We’ve been extremely satisfied with Anson’s teaching style and patience. Mr. Cadogan was one of the best teachers I ever had. I studied French for 2 years with him and he tutored me briefly for a French placement exam for Spelman College. With his help I scored above average on the exam. His expectations of his students are high but he will help you reach those expectations . From day one he will likely speak to you mostly in French and expect you to respond in French. This was scary at first but it helped my French sound more conversational and natural. I would absolutely study with him again.

Mr. Cadogan is extremely passionate about not only the French language, but about the culture as well. He shows fluency up to a high degree, and takes the time to help even the slowest of learner. Patient and enthusiastic are great words to describe his teaching style.

$40 - $50 per hour depending on the level required. Translations start at $40 per page for personal correspondence, and start at $50 per page for more complex documents.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An initial casual meeting will be scheduled as a means of getting to know each other and talk about the potential client's specific needs. A schedule will be suggested and, if all are in agreement, instruction starts on the day and date decided.
