Unsafe Installation and Poor Warranty SupportPower Garage Door replaced my garage door spring in March 2025 for $675, which included a 5-year warranty. I recently noticed that one of the two screws attached to the spring anchor bracket had come completely loose, and the other screw on top was about to come out, creating a serious safety hazard. Another licensed garage door company reviewed the photo and advised that both the spring and bracket were improperly installed, secured incorrectly and not using the proper lag screws or bolts required for a torsion spring system. They also stated that this was a faulty installation and should be corrected at no charge by the company who performed the work, as is standard industry practice.When I contacted Power Garage Door, their manager, Ben, informed me that I would need to pay an additional $250$350 for the repair, repeatedly texting and insisting that no one works for free. However, the installation was faulty, and I was simply requesting that the company address the safety issue. I am fully willing and able to pay for work that is done properly; in fact, I already paid $675 for the initial installation, which is more than many other companies charge for the same service. My issue is not about avoiding payment, it is about the company taking responsibility for their own faulty workmanship while compensating their technician. The loose spring bracket posed a real danger, especially because we have children, and a garage door failure could cause serious injury.Ben also claimed that all they did was replace the spring, which is inaccurate, replacing a torsion spring requires removing and reinstalling the spring anchor bracket. That means the bracket and spring installation are part of the work they performed and should fall under warranty coverage.This issue clearly resulted from faulty workmanship, not normal wear and tear. I am extremely disappointed that Power Garage Door refused to take responsibility for a safety-related problem that should have been covered under warranty, or at the very least addressed in good faith. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.Edit 11/10/25: In response to you saying you do not know who I am: I am not going to put my personal information out here for obvious reasons, but you have my name. I know you are able to find me that way in your system since your phone answering service is able to find my information pretty easily. You can also ask Ben, your "manager". Additionally, on 11/3/25 at 8:50pm, I emailed this concern to your company email prior to writing the review, and I called several times. On 11/4/25, due to the urgency of the safety issue, I ended up having another company come out to fix the problem since your company never emailed me back, and the other manager who was supposed to call me, never did. I have to say the customer service from your company is terrible. Regardless, my problem is fixed, it just wasn't your company who fixed the problem.
