Highly Recommend – Excellent Work & Great Experience!
I found Affordable Home Services here on Thumbtack when I needed someone to replace the aging wood railing on my front porch — and I’m so glad I did! From the very start, their communication was top-notch. Ricky came out quickly to take measurements, and I had a clear, detailed estimate the same day. Even better, the work was started and fully completed the very next day.
They replaced 30 linear feet of 4-foot-high railing with pressure-treated wood, including thorough caulking and painting — and the attention to detail was obvious. The spacing of the rails was perfectly symmetrical, the caulking was clean, and the paint matched the existing 20-year-old porch so well it looks like it was always there. They even added extra support under the bottom rail to prevent sagging over time — something I hadn’t even thought to ask for.
The final result exceeded my expectations, and it’s clear they take pride in doing the job right. I’ve already recommended them to my brother for some gate and fence work, and wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again for future projects.

I can’t say enough good things about Ricky Reyes and his work with Affordable Home Services. Over the past few months, Ricky has helped me with multiple home improvement projects, and every time he has exceeded my expectations.
He’s replaced and switched out my sink faucets and drains, patched and painted walls (including a large hole in the bathroom where a towel holder fell — and you’d never know it was ever damaged!), repaired an outdoor leaky faucet, painted interior rooms, and even built a beautiful fence for my deck. He’s also done quick and expert patchwork where my kids accidentally dented the wall riding their longboard indoors.
Ricky is always on time, professional, and courteous. What really stands out is how much pride he takes in his work — he doesn’t cut corners, offers great solutions, and ensures the job is done right. I’ve made last-minute requests and changes, and even when something wasn’t in the original plan, he was flexible, upfront about any additional charges, and still delivered outstanding results.
