Mr. Jeremy is a great guitar instructor! My six year old son truly enjoys his lessons and looks forward to them every week. Jeremy is very patient and knowledgeable. He is truly a great teacher who connects with my son, engages and encourages him so much. He is great at responding to messages and providing lessons and things to work on during the week that were taught in the lesson. My son and I both give him high praise!

I was searching for guitar lessons for my son when I came across The Chung Method. I read their reviews and they were great so I went ahead and sent a message to get more info on the classes. They were so quick to respond and set me up a free lesson with Jeremy! After that initial lesson, I went ahead and signed up my son to start getting virtual lessons. Let me tell you that he has learned so much more this year than all the other two/three years combined when he was taking lessons here locally. I can hear my son practicing and I am amazed at how well it is going and how much he has learned. My son is a bit shy and quiet, but Jeremy knows how to work with him. I have also noticed that my son is actually enjoying playing the guitar now! I am so very pleased with Jeremy and this company. They are amazing and very responsive!

Details: 10 - 13 years old • 0 - 2 yrs of formal training • Yes, can read guitar tabs • Electric • What the teacher recommends • Yes, the student has an instrument • 30 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

Working with Vaughn has been great so far. This was my first experience taking guitar lessons and I was a bit nervous, but Vaughn is a cool guy and he created a comfortable atmosphere. I didn't feel like I had to prove anything; I could tell he just wanted to help me get better and encourage me to practice things outside of my comfort zone that will be fundamental for my future playing. I look forward to more lessons!

Details: 18 - 25 years old • 2 - 4 yrs of formal training • Yes, can read music staff • What the teacher recommends • Rock • Blues • Jazz • Yes, the student has an instrument • 30 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

Vaughn is awesome! I am lucky to have an opportunity to work with him. He is great at what he does. I was brand new to guitar lessons and he has been very patient with me over the last few months. He knows how to gradually progress your skills. He keeps it fun and exciting. I highly recommend him. I wouldn’t look elsewhere.

My 12-year-old son has been taking lessons from Vaughn for few months. Vaughn is very patient, focused, and flexible in his teaching style. Vaughn adjusts the lessons to my son's interests while taking into consideration my son's playing ability. He balances theory with practical playing techniques and is positive all the time. My son enjoys going to his lesson each week, and I would definitely recommend Vaughn to anyone who is looking to begin, continue or renew playing the guitar.

Details: 10 - 13 years old • No, the student cannot read music • No formal training • Pop • Yes, the student has a keyboard • 45 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is set firm at my studio and will vary depending on the distance traveled for private sessions at student's residences.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I look for what inspires you, such as pieces that fuel your interest to play alongside musicians you aspire to emulate. Your long term goals are just as important as your short term goals, so I make sure I have a clear picture of what you're looking to achieve. If you are a novice with a passion to learn, it's imperative to understand that you cannot become a pro at your craft while putting in the hours of a hobbyist. On the other hand, not everyone wants to become a professional, so as long as your philosophy aligns with your objectives, then you will accomplish anything you want in music.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been playing guitar for over 15 years, and took formal lessons from some of the most incredible instructors in Houston. I have a background in music theory and guitar-specific disciplines via HCC and the University of Houston.
