FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask for a photo (if any) of the desired look and discuss logistics like time of completion and the number of individuals needing services. I'm always curious about a client's daily makeup routine and their type of skin (dry, oily, combination). This helps me analyze the products that would work best for him/her in order to provide a long lasting and "budge proof" makeup application.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a professional, freelance, self-taught makeup artist. I attended a well-known cosmetology school while simultaneously finishing my junior year in college; but, since I was close to graduating, I completely focused on college and withdrew from beauty school. This did not stop my passion for beauty and making people feel beautiful or special - whether it be through makeup, a genuine compliment or just a small act of kindness.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I loved playing with makeup. When I entered cosmetology school, I was in a design team where we focus on hair and makeup. I then discovered that makeup was my strongest point, my niche. I received positive feedback on makeup applications that I decided to practice on family and friends. This then extended to referrals and sparked my interest to be a professional freelance makeup artist.
