Wonderful work on my tile floor! I love Cody's attention to detail and the powerful presence he brings to his work. We are about to start on our kitchen counters, and know the result will be just as fine as the floor work. Good job, Avalance!

I found Isaac through Thumbtack and all the fantastic reviews reflect my experience too. * Excellent work. * Clear communication regarding schedule and pricing. * Prompt and Professional communication with email and texting. I used his services for painting and tile work. It was an older property with lots of room for improvements. He finished the project on time and left it clean. “WOW!” I will definitely use his services again and recommend him to others.

John arrived on schedule and repaired/replaced two tile areas that had cracked in the master bath and kitchen. All work was done correctly and John did a great job cleaning up the areas. I would definitely hire John again for similar projects.

Originally Tell-projects came into re-do my kitchen backsplash. They saw that my kitchen was falling apart being it is a kitchen from 1988. I saw pictures of past projects they have done and Zack couldn't be nicer! He told me "Rebecca, I have over 15 years of experience, our pictures speak for themselves, you can trust me." And although I was hesitant, I did. Tell projects refaced all of my kitchen cabinet and rebuilt my entire pantry with new shelving they cut and made on site. They made the pantry door made look brand new. They sanded and painted and stained and installed and repaired and tried to save me as much money as they could along the way. I have to stay that I was very skeptical but they did an excellent job! The workers treated my house like it was there own home and were so respectful of me and my kids. They always made sure to come after my kids left for school as to not bother breakfast time. They got me an incredible price for gorgeous white granite and installed all new door handles The backsplash is gorgeous white subway tile with a mosaic above my stove top. My kitchen looks brand new and it was just a simple update that took 4 days. Best part was the price, it was excellent for the amount of work that they did!!! My friends wont stop talking about my kitchen and I am a very happy customer, so is my husband ;) Thanks Zach and the crew!!! I cant wait until my next project with you guys, get ready, I know I am!!! I will definitely recommenced them!

Our townhouse lower living level floor of approximately 700 square feet was built in 2008 with a dark hardwood floor. We wanted to replace this floor with a light porcelain tile. We sourced three companies for quotes, one from the internet, one form a recommendation of a friend and Westside Floors form their advertisement. One scheduled a visit and didn't show up, one never returned our phone message and Daniel responded immediately to our call, scheduled a visit within a couple of days and turned up on the day and time scheduled. I am pleased the other two companies did not show because of the outstanding work Daniel and Westside Floors did for us. Daniel arrived and measured the area and immediately worked up the quote in great detail while we were with him so we could ask any questions and the price we thought was very, very competitive for what we believed it may cost. Daniel also gave us very valuable advise on the type and size of tile to select to suit our requirements and area. In addition as we were new to the area he gave us tile manufacturers and locations, with showrooms, that we didn't even know existed that Westside Floors do business with and can get contractor pricing. We eventually picked the tile from one of these manufacturers and Daniel ordered and picked it up. Following the quote at our house and our very positive impression of Daniel and Westside Floors we immediately awarded him the work. He immediately scheduled his crew to tear out the hardwood floor and the tiling crew and they arrived as sheduled. Both crews completed the work in the stated timeframe, very professionally, very clean housekeeping, very high quality work, and assisted in moving our furniture around their work for us. Daniel arrived periodically to check the work progress and quality even though he was very busy, and at the end of the job to visit with us for our impressions. I don't believe on any previous survey that I have ever given an outstanding review before but Daniel and Westside Floors fully deserve it for outstanding service, scheduling, professionalism, cleanliness and quality and they are also very good people. We will be doing our second floor next and I will only solicit Daniel and Westside Floors to perform the work.

Replaced solid surface tub surround with 8X12 tiles, added a built-in shampoo caddy with mosaic tile accents. Great job for the price. The tub/shower walls look beautiful! In and out in a day and a half.

Mr Sheppard did an excellent job of painting my four rooms, I could not be happpier with the expirence. He was professional, gave me a time line of when the rooms would be complete and actually finished early as he estimated three days and finished in two. Me Sheppard was on the job early the two days he painted my rooms. I am very pleased that the job was complete and Mr Sheppard left the work are clean, he did a finally walk through with me to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Showed up on time, was very pleasant and did an outstanding job. He even went above and beyond by finding a spot on the wall that had a hump in it and taking care of that. I didn't know the hump was there, so he could have just tiled over it and then the tile would have been uneaven, but he fixed the issue without having to be told to. I will be hiring Saul for all of my future tile jobs.

My experience was espectacular. I don’t really have another word for it. They did the ceramic tile of my house. It was about 3600 square feet. And when I decide to remodel another part of my house, I will deninately call them once again.

Did great work and price was honest and reasonable. They did the tile work for the dinning room floor, bathroom floor, and bathtub surround. In addition, they replaced the bathroom vanity, painted the kitchen cabinets, and applied epoxy to the kitchen's laminate counter. Levi was responsive to my texts and phone calls, and didn't have any problem with the additional requests made once construction started.

I had hired a contractor from Thumbtack to lay some tile in my bathroom. When he was finished, I went into the bathroom and noticed to horrid job he did with the cutting of the tile around the baseboards! I reached out on Thumbtack once again, and found JC Carpentry to lay some quarter rounds to cover the awful job. He came out and assessed, and we came to a solution. Let me say, he did a FANTASTIC job, was priced just right and was fast!! Thank you so much JC, you have all my future work for finishing carpentry. 😊

Julio keeps his word, he did what he said he was going to do. The value was awesome, and he was always on time and working the entire time. I strongly recommend Julio for any of your flooring needs.

(Samuel) Manna flooring did some ceramic tile work for my new home. I wanted it extended from what I already had. Samuel worked hard to find me the exact tile that was already in my house. I believed he called all over town and was very responsive to all my questions. The tile job itself was way better than expected and costs 3x less than other quotes received. It was handled like true professionals. I would definitely hire again if needed.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to get tiling done?

You can install tiling on your floors, walls, counters, kitchen backsplash, outdoor patio and shower — to name a few places. Tile is beautiful, easy to clean, durable, and resilient against kids and pets. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Often, tile installation specialists quote a price per square foot for installation. Costs can increase if you want the pro to supply the tile instead of ordering it yourself. Other factors that can increase cost include specialized installation with a unique design that will require more labor to install.

Prep work will also affect tile installation costs. Demolition of the existing floor, counter or backsplash takes time and energy that will be reflected in the price. Necessary repairs, such as a sub-floor that needs bolstering before tile flooring can be installed, will also increase costs. For tile showers, one example of tile installation cost may be approximately $25 per square foot including all materials and labor. Average tile installation costs for backsplashes may run anywhere from $10 to $40, depending on the materials selected and the amount of labor required. The larger the area where tile is being installed, the lower the price per square foot will likely be. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for wood-look tile installation in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

    • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
      • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
    • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
    • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot — or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If you’re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.

How much does it cost to install tiles in a kitchen?

One of the most common kitchen upgrades is installing decorative backsplash tiles in the space between the counters and cabinets. It’s a chance for homeowners to get creative while also protecting the kitchen walls from splashes and stains. Like all tiling projects, kitchen tile project costs depend on the tiles you choose, installation materials such as grout and mortar, and any surface materials, like replacement backer board. The national average for a tiled kitchen backsplash is $490-$750. In general, pricing averages $10-$40 per square foot for installation, not including tile. Some professional tile installers have a minimum day rate for small projects, which averages $350.
