The rating is actually regarding communication not service, since I never got my piano tuned. UPDATE**** After an initial bad start regarding scheduling etc, when it came to the actual tuning, we are very happy. The technician, whose named will not come to me, was so friendly, informative and professional. We have an incredibly old piano which will never be quite 'true' again, but he did a wonderful job.Mar 28, 2018Verified
Addressed my areas of concern. Piano sounds great. ThanksNov 11, 2017Verified
I never received the service. The communication was extremely poor. For the first scheduled service, the tuner was sick but did not let me know - he said he had misplaced my phone number. I only found out when I contacted him through Thumbtack. We rescheduled - He had not arrived after 20 minutes past the scheduled time. I again contacted him through Thumbtack - he was running late at his previous appointment. We rescheduled again. He never showed up. I tried contacting him through Thumbtack, but he never replied. I gave up.Jan 14, 2018
Kevin was very polite, professional and neat. He did the repair needed, then tuned the piano very well. I would certainly recommend him and will use him again when it is time to tune.Feb 22, 2018Verified

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First we like to understand what is being requested. Then after inspecting the piano and offering a final price we begin working on the instrument, making any adjustments and repairs and finally tuning to perfection.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Piano tuning is a trade learned through practice and hard work. I’ve trained for many years and have trained other tuners. Every piano is unique and adds to my understanding of the instrument.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I trained under Robert Treadway and tuned my way through college. I studied music theory and music history in addition to sociology. After college I decided to keep the business going and have now expanded and hired another tuner. We love tuning pianos and helping customers. It’s more of a passion than anything else.
