Barbara P. says, "I had a possum coming and going into my attic. From there he could access my garage. I saw him in the garage prior to contacting Thumbtack so know for sure that it was a possum. Jesus found the entry point at a vent on the roof, fixed it, and put in a temporary, one-way door. Unfortunately, the possum didn't or couldn't use the door. Jesus had also put a cage trap as a second way to catch him. Unfortunately he wasn't caught in the trap either. After a couple of nights listening to him trying to get out I decided I should feed him so he didn't die up there and create a horrible odor. I could tell that he was still going into my garage (he knocked things over) so I moved the trap into the garage. He ate the cat food in the cage the first night I put it there but didn't trigger the door. The next day I heard what I thought was him traveling down the wall into the garage in the afternoon and opened the garage door for him. It turns out that he did leave. I didn't know this so tried to set up the trap in a manner that would have a better chance of catching him and left it with a good supply of cat food that night. It was untouched in the morning. During this time I was in contact with Jesus. He was questionable why the possum could not get out the one-way door nor get caught in the trap. He wanted to put a camera in the garage that last day as he wasn't sure it was a possum but I told him I thought it may have gotten out so told him not to come. He came a few days later and took out the one-way door and sealed the remaining hole. I haven't had any issues since. I did think he was very expensive. He charged $400 to find and seal the hole with the door and then come back 7 days later to remove the door and reseal the hole. To be fair, he was willing to come back in the middle of that time and install a camera and he also would have moved the cage from the attic to the garage. His warranty only lasted those 7 days. I didn't check for other pricing because he was able to come out the same day and I needed to get some sleep. It's hard to sleep with critters dancing in the ceiling above your bed. He showed me many places around my house where bugs or very small critters could enter. He was going to charge me $950 if I wanted those sealed. As a bonus if I would agree to it that day, he would do both the hole in the vent and the extra sealing work for $1000. I declined the secondary work."See more
