I have taught Spanish private lessons on and off through the years as a side job. Years ago, I taught at Awty International School (as an independent) and Smaller Scholars Montessori . Currently, I choose to have a couple of students only, as I take care of my mom who has Alzheimer's disease. I graduated as a valedictorian from a high school that had a double load of classes in English and Spanish. In 1982, I earned a BBA degree in Psychology and Business Management.
One of my pet peeves is to see spelling errors in publications, such as newspapers and magazines. As to teaching Spanish, I can customize the lessons, depending on what the client wishes. A client can be someone struggling in a school Spanish class, or it can be someone needing to know Spanish for his/her job, or someone wishing to converse before a trip to a Spanish-speaking country. Whatever the need is, I strongly believe in teaching a good foundation of Grammar, including the correct use of verbs, which is often a challenging topic for non-native speakers. I am fluent in both Spanish and English, having grown up in Guatemala and having had a Spanish-speaking dad and an English-speaking mom. I live on the west side of Houston (approx. near Briar Forest and Dairy Ashford), if that helps in your decision.
