- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have photographed many times under strict time constraints so I've had to learn quickly and learn to be consistent. I've also assisted with one of the finest portrait photographers in Brooklyn for years so I have a good sense of how to get the best lighting for a situation.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started shooting headshots in New York City where I lived for nineteen years. A friend of mine taught acting classes and asked if I'd like to work with his students who were just starting out. I just dozens of aspiring actors with ing six months some of whom have gone in to have very successful careers.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently I've put my "real" camera aside due to the pandemic and I began shooting portraits over FaceTime with the built in camera in the app. Though the technical aspects of shooting are greatly limited this project has helped me significantly with coaching and connecting with my subjects. I'm always overjoyed when my subjects text me back saying, "These are amazing! How did you do that over FaceTime?"
