- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Depending on the need I request as much info regarding the job as necessary. I want to finalize major details prior to starting so all expectations are communicated. I can be a bit of an over communicator but when your often dealing with items that have more historical than monetary value i want to get it right the first time. I also require a deposit of 1/2 the quoted price prior to beginning any project. This helps with keeping my shop clear. When the customer is invested they are more likely to help me keep the project moving along and want it finished in a timely manner.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I learned the old fashion way, Lots of trial and error! I started refinishing furniture before it was cool and way before youtube had a million tutorials on what to do. I did this full time for years and at times desperation forced me to innovate and create to stay ahead of the curve. The result is a process that is simple yet strenuous and a product that will absolutely last the lifetime of the furniture or cabinet that it coats.
