Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Over 20 years experience in recipe development, menu consultation, and restaurant reviews and 5 years experience in Internet editing and copywriting over a wide spectrum of subjects, although my interest lies primarily in food blogging and photography. I have been quoted in both hard copy media and on the Internet as an expert in the areas of food and recipe development, homeschooling, parenting, women's issues, marriage, livestock, and homesteading. I have worked as an editor, overseeing writers on antiques, green living, and organics. One of my peers, Gayla Baer-Taylor, had this to say about my work “I'm continually amazed at the ability Marye has to take a tough niche topic and develop an entire community around it. The level of excitement in her work is addictive and the care and thought she puts into her work is priceless.”

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Researching and writing articles on a variety of subjects from homesteading to parenting. I also do editing and rewriting of existing articles in order to make your website more search engine and reader friendly. Restaurants have invited me to review them for grand openings, and to give the owners suggestions on how to improve their service. I have also developed both menus and recipes for a variety of businesses. I have done product reviews for companies like Tassimo, Sevani Beauty, and others. I also have created a social media following of over 3000 fans, allowing me to reach a large amount of consumers with the touch of a key.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask questions: Is English the primary language? Is the writer experienced in the aspects of Internet journalism and SEO that are needed by your company? Does the writer have a large enough social media following to get your product or business out in front of the people who are looking for it? Is the style compatible with your company? Can the writer present you to the public in the way that you want to be seen? How much experience does the writer have? Do they have references? .... and always check them out on linkedin.com, twitter.com and facebook. Do a Google search of the writer's name as well as the business name (if there is one) and see what others are saying.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Cheaper is not always cost efficient. It is difficult for the professional writer to see a company hire someone for less than minimum wage because they think that they are saving money. In the long run be willing to pay for quality work. Your customers will judge you on the quality of your site and the quality of what they read. If you have a tight budget let the writer know. Often some compromise can be worked out. If you hire someone for $5.00 for 500 words you can be sure that the project will reflect the cost cutting measures that you took. You may even need to the project redone - costing you time, money, and reputation.
