Lesson learned the hard way! I've used them before to take care of stains created by my little humans. The tech who came out was great! Since we were moving out we decided to go with someone a little less expensive! Because after all we weren't going to be living there anymore. Big mistake! I saved about $30 but basically no stains were removed they just wet my carpet. It was a complete waste of money. The housekeeper that we hired kept recommending these carpet cleaners. She went on and on about them. She even called them for me but he was booked. I didn't really pay her much attention because I was just going to call DB carpet cleaners anyway. Turns out we were talking about the same company! I made an appointment with him and he came on time and saved my deposit by greeting those stains out! He's professional, very personable and definitely worth the money! Trying to be cheap almost cost me my deposit. Save yourself time and energy and just call DB Carpet Cleaners! Thank you guys for everything!

Eliot and his helpers were very professional and the house looks terrific. We had a deep cleaning and steam carpet cleaning. They dusted and wiped down everytging, including the top shelves in the closets in the master bedroom . We have 2 cats and a LOT of cat hair and they worked had to get it all out. The also cleaned all of the corners on the floor - down on his hands and knees! We would defiantly recommend Eliot and his team!

I would highly recommend this person. The gentleman who cleaned our furniture was prompt and extremely polite. He did a fantastic job cleaning the three pieces of furniture and even cleaned some of the carpet in that room as well. All of this was completed in just about an hour. He made sure to clean up any spilled water and ensure that the house was in better condition than when he came. The end result was excellent. I would highly recommend his service to others – a fantastic deal and excellent experience.

I have hired 3 different carpet cleaners in the last 2 years all were good but Expressteamers went above and beyond the call. They were on time, professional in all categories from careful movement of furniture, being honest and showing spots in carpet that were not able to clean(previous owner + wood stains) to taking the time to do a 100% incredible job. I will not look any further if you are considering a carpet cleaning outfit. I will only use him from this point on. He is reasonable in pricing as well as went the extra mile to make sure all was done perfect. I could not ask for more!!

Adrian did a thorough job steam cleaning my carpet. However, areas of high traffic still remain and cannot be cleaned to original condition. He came out a second time and confirmed that scrubbing /shampooing would not improve the appearance of the carpet. He did not charge me for the trip charge and I appreciate his honesty.

Excellent dry cleaners. They care of my clothes better than me. I trust them with all my family’s most delicate clothing pieces and they do a fantastic job. They have alteration services on site (recommended) and they also offer rugs, sofas and mattress cleaning services. I recently had them deep clean my daughter’s mattress and it now looks and look like new.

    About

Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Services Chem-Dry is the world’s leading carpet cleaning company with over 4,000 locations around the world. Chem-Dry’s cleaning professionals are trained to deliver the finest in service and quality, using Chem-Dry’s proprietary carpet and upholstery cleaning solutions and powerful equipment. By cleaning your carpets the Harris County Chem-Dry way, you can ensure a healthier home for your family. Chem-Dry carpet cleaners use The Natural®, a proprietary hot water cleaning solution that uses the power of carbonation to lift dirt to the surface, where our powerful suction tools whisk away the dirt - leaving carpets clean deep below the surface. Experts agree the Chem-Dry system works hard to deep clean carpets without leaving dirt-attracting residues. In fact, the Carpet & Rug Institute has awarded Chem-Dry's hot carbonating extraction process with its Seal of Approval. Through the power of carbonation, Harris County Chem-Dry can increase the longevity of your carpet and can often help keep your carpet warranty in compliance. Upholstery Cleaning Furniture, like the carpets in your home, receives a lot of attention often in the form of dirty cloths and shedding animals. However, with Harris County Chem-Dry’s upholstery cleaning systems, you can have your home looking, feeling, and smelling as good as new. Chem-Dry upholstery cleaning systems use hot carbonating extraction, which works to lift dirt for a deep clean that dries quickly. Ask your Harris County Chem-Dry professional about how to best care for your specific upholstery type. Specialty Spot Removal Lipstick, permanent marker, and juice stains are not uncommon, but are also not desirable additions to carpet and upholstery. Stains can be difficult to remove, but at Harris County Chem-Dry, we believe that if our trained technicians can't remove a tough carpet or upholstery stain, no one can. Our carpet cleaning processes and solutions work to target and remove the stain. Ask your technician to evaluate your specific spots during your carpet cleaning appointment. Your technician can identify any difficult spots and offer solutions to improve the look of your carpets. Area Rugs Just like the carpet in your home, an area run needs professional cleaning. Our technicians can help you maximize the life of your area rugs with regular cleaning. Ask about our powerful protectant products, which are applied by a Chem-Dry technician and can help minimize the risk for stains between regular cleanings. Pet Urine Odor Removal Urine spots on carpet are a problem that is hard to resolve; however, at Harris County Chem-Dry, we have the ability to find odor-causing spots around your home and remove them. First, our Chem-Dry technician will use a black light to identify stained areas, helping him/her to evaluate the size and scope of the odor-causing stain. Then, the technician will apply pet urine removal treatment to rid your home of the nasty odors that can permeate the house from these spots. Your house will smell fresh, and the spot will be minimized. Carpet Protectant Protect your carpets from dirt and stains with Harris County Chem-Dry’s PowerGuard Protectant, which is loaded with acid-dye resistors to provide excellent stain resistance and can be added by a Chem-Dry technician at the time of cleaning. The stain-guard that comes with your new carpets begins to wear away after only a few months of steady traffic. In order to keep your carpets from fighting spills and spots, Harris County Chem-Dry's PowerGuard Protectant can replace the spot-fighting power and help keep your carpets cleaner between routine professional cleaning appointments. A Better Way To Clean. A Cleaner Way to Live.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

    Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How do you find a good carpet cleaning company?

Regular professional carpet cleaning can both extend the life of your carpet and remove harmful pollutants from your home. Finding a good carpet cleaning company is an important aspect of home maintenance. When choosing a carpet cleaner, consider these top three questions:

    • What method of carpet cleaning do you prefer? Steam cleaning is an increasingly popular method because it’s thorough and safe, and dries quickly enough for you to return to your home the same day the carpets are cleaned.
    • Have you checked the company’s references? Most cities are home to several carpet cleaning companies, so it’s a good idea to check their reviews and references. Look for references from people in your neighborhood with homes similar to yours.
    • What’s included in the base price? What other services does the carpet cleaning company offer? Some companies will move furniture for you, while others charge a fee for it. Some include stairs in the cost of the home’s cleaning, while others charge per step.

    What does carpet cleaning cost?

National average carpet cleaning prices range between $100 and $130. Carpet cleaning prices depend on how many square feet of carpet you want cleaned, how many rooms in one house or building will be cleaned, how stained your carpet is, how much the carpet cleaning company charges, your ZIP code, and the type of carpet you have. Cost per square foot can range from 20 cents to $1 or more, based on the above variables. Synthetic carpets are typically the least expensive to clean; natural fibers like wool cost more, as they require more care and attention, as well as more drying time. Excessive stains, challenging locations such as stairs, and accessibility also factor into your carpet cleaning price. Companies may charge a minimum service fee for cleaning a small carpet to cover their business expenses (paying employees, transporting the special equipment to your home). If your pet has repeatedly saturated the carpet with urine or if the fibers are extremely matted down, it may make more sense to completely replace your carpet than to continue to have it cleaned.
