Introduction: I have one hell of a life story that is involved in my message. Raised by a prostitute, served 12 months in Iraq, attempted to take my own life and had to testify against my own mother in court for murder. The fact that I'm able to help people change their perspective in life and give them the tools they need to learn how to overcome struggles in both business and personal life.

Andrew Appeared at Del Mar College in November 2014 and conducted information sessions to both staff/faculty and to veteran students. His message was meaningful and well received by all present. He is a great public speaker and his story is relevant. I also had the opportunity to have Andrew appear at the Annual Training Conference in March 2015 that is held by my organization the Texas Association of Collegiate Veteran Program officials. Again, Andrew was outstanding as he addressed college and university professional from across the state of Texas. His work on resilience and his care and concern for fellow veterans is obvious in everything he does. I strongly recommend Andrew Obrien.

Andrew O'Brien presented to Somerville High School last spring and I have never heard our student body so quiet. He was able to capture their full attention at the very beginning of his presentation and keep it! The experiences that Mr. O'Brien shared really hit home with many of our students. He is the real deal! His story is unlike anyone else's and his resiliency to all the obstacles he had to overcome in life captivated and inspired our students to want more for their lives. His approach is personable and truly comes from the heart. After hearing his message, you will leave with a sense of empowerment that no matter what you are dealing with in life you too can overcome it! It is hard to reach many struggling students today because many educators do not have a point of reference where they can understand what they are going through because they have never experienced it for themselves. Mr. O'Brien has experienced some of the biggest obstacles in life and shares his experiences in a way that students can relate to. I will definitely invite him to speak again in the future and I highly recommend him as an inspirational speaker.

Andrew is an excellent speaker with a point of reference to the subject matter. We have had Andrew as a guest speaker for our annual Suicide Awareness Month event on two separate occasions. Military members feel comfortable feel that they share some of the same kinds of experiences that Andrew talks about and our civilian population has provided positive feedback as well. Many often stay behind after the presentation is over to talk with Andrew. I would highly recommend Andrew to my fellow Suicide Prevention Program Managers as a guest speaker for their events.

Andrew was incredibly easy to work with, and related so well to the students! Often times, speakers get blank stares and no engagement-not Andrew! Responses, laughter, questions...it was all great!
