Mike had to remove the outlet and box behind my refrigerator because they and a piece of adjacent 2x4 had caught fire. He discovered that someone had previously and incorrectly installed an outlet in the garage on the wall behind the refrigerator and had "tied it into" the outlet in the house. We had been using the garage outlet to run a heater and that is what tripped the breaker and caused the meltdown and fire in the kitchen outlet. His diagnosis was spot on and his repair perfect. Not once did I question his ability to get the job done. I almost didn't choose Mike because he lives so far away but he was nearby and was willing to come do the work. Likewise, his response to my request for a job was super fast. The time between when I posted my request on Thumbtack and the time he was finished (and cleaned things up) was less four hours! While Mike worked he carried on a friendly conversation and we learned that he grew up in the next neighborhood over. He even played with my dog. There is nothing about this experience that could have gone better. Quick response - friendly guy - excellent work - fair price. Everything I needed to help me through this scary day.
