- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I tried to set my fee at or a little below the average for the area. I don’t want to undercut or steal clients from hard working people but I do want to get established on Thumbtack and in my area. I would like a minimum of one hr for any job. Meaning if I come out and it takes 45 min I would like pay for an hour. Anything 30 min or less I will negotiate. I at least like to cover the cost of gas for travel.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to introduce myself with a little more background detail. I like to find out there thoughts and expectations on the work needed and the outcome expected. I basically want to become friend and hopefully longtime “go to” guy for them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Not a lot in the “official” sense of the words. As I said, grew up on a farm, little money so I had to learn how to do things. Worked at a chemical plant for 31.5 yrs before being “downsized”. Over the years, I have done many a different job for various people. All, to my knowledge, have been very pleased with my work.
