Michael was prompt to respond. He was able to analyze where our daughter was in need of the most assistance and went right to work. I believe he will be able to help succeed in her classwork as well as her SAT/ACT goals.

I took Michal’s 8-wk GRE class at ATX prep this fall and I had a very positive experience. As a working professional preparing for graduate school, preparing for the math portion of GRE test was an intimidating endeavor. Michal is extremely encouraging and supportive of his students while maintaining a laid-back teaching style. He’s also generous with his time and genuinely wants to see his students succeed. An exceptionally nice guy and great teacher! The only thing I would I didn’t like about the class (and this may just be based on personal learning-preference) was that 2 or 3 of the 8-wk class classes were taught by another teacher named Chelsea. I thought the class she taught on the analytical essay was very helpful, but her math-teaching approach didn't work for me. When I left Michal’s classes, I left feeling confident about the material that was covered. I left Chelsea’s math feeling flustered and with unanswered questions. However, I was able to get those questions resolved before the end of the course. My overall experience was excellent and I would recommend this course to anyone who needs support preparing for the GRE.

Love the SAT with Christian was exactly what we needed for our fist kid going through the process. Christian would fit each time he met with our daughter to her specific needs. He would look at her recent scores on testing efforts and would work with her till her scores in everything stated to climb. He was patient and thorough and never made our daughter feel anything but optimistic about her chances of getting her scores to the level she needed them to be to gain admittance to the college of her choice. Now she is a happy freshman at the University of Texas at Austin and we will definitely use Love the SAT for our next two up and coming college applicants.

I was failing. Period! I was at a loss on how to pass Economics. I was assigned Mr. Ramiro and we sat and he went over the syllabus, and he talked and questioned me a lot! The next meeting he had assignments for me, While I did them he would review my notes and give me additional homework. But he would give me practice exams. I was taking 12 hours plus tutoring and the homework was crazy. But Mr. Mata drilled me and explained everything at my level and not at the doctorate level so well I went from an "F" to a final grade of a "C". If I would have had him before midterms, I may have gotten a "B" or an "A"! And he is a tutor for other courses in which I will request his services! Paul D. My son is in 10th grade and a bright boy. However, with ACT tests coming up, we wanted him to reach his highest potential. Through the Chelsea International Getting Into The Ivys test prep program, my son has excelled so much so that he is up to go to Stanford. After doing 6 weeks of private tuition with Dr. Michelle, her patience, understanding and encouragement, has driven my son’s greatest results. He scored 34 on his first time taking the ACT and he had no prior ACT testing experience. I am so impressed and so thankful for the professional experience of Chelsea International.

I can count the amount of teachers from my high school career who impacted me on one hand. Mrs. Wiatrek is one of them. There was no dreading her class or copying the homework from other classmates because I enjoyed it. I looked forward not necessarily to learning, but to what she was going to teach me. Today, many class sizes are so large that each student's individual education inevitably gets watered down, but I never felt that in Mrs. Wiatrek's class. I felt as important as every other classmate. I was never shy to raise my hand and ask questions because I knew that in that environment there were no stupid questions. Every question and every answer helped me grow. Mrs. Wiatrek never let us fall behind. When I was going through a difficult situation at home, my grades started dropping. Mrs. Wiatrek approached me and made me feel so accepted and understood. She wanted me to succeed. We made a plan together so I wouldn't fall behind in the class. When my grades went up, she was proud of me and I could feel that. Mrs. Wiatrek impacted me in so many ways. I found myself fast-walking to her class, eager for the next discussion. I found myself loving books I never would have ordinarily read. She made learning fun. She made reading interesting. She drove me to succeed by helpings me build goals and standards for myself and encouraging me to reach them. She expected a lot from us and did everything she could to inspire us and motivate us to meet those expectations. That classroom is my best memory from high school. It was a place where I found solace in books, where I felt capable, and where I learned valuable life lessons. What I learned in her class has helped me excel in my college career, and I know that without her class I would not have the knowledge and tools to succeed that I do today.

Matthew is great to work with! He teaches very well. Math is not my strongest subject, but with Matthew's help, I was able to improve my math skills. Whenever I needed help, he would always do his best to help me and make sure that I understood the concept I was trying to learn!

Jana tutored me for the CLEP Psychology exam. In just one weekend, she helped me pass the exam with flying colors. She literally saved my skin when it came to graduating on time! If you want a tutor that is knowledgable about a wide array of subjects including history and psychology, there is no better tutor than Jana McCarthy. She is patient (seriously, she tutored me for SIX. HOURS. without complaint,) kind, and understanding. I could not have asked for a better tutor.

About

My name is Merry Zide and I have been studying as a graduate student in the History Department at UT-Austin. I provide private tutoring in history, English, writing, and test prep for students of all ages. Learning how to read critically and write clearly tends to improve academic performance across the board. Students with strong reading and writing skills can absorb and communicate information effectively, even when they are not entirely familiar with the material. I have learned that mastering these basic skills is as important for college and graduate students as for elementary and high school students. When I tutor in particular subjects like History or English, I try to help students improve on basic study skills, and I emphasize relationships and critical thinking over memorization and rote learning.
