We had a drainage issue with runoff pooling around the back of the house and in the back yard. We talked to several contractors and thought Mike had the best idea to solve the problem. His crew put in a French drain across the back yard and around the house to catch the run off. The soil around the back of the house was lightly regraded for drainage, then covered with river rock with a flagstone pathway. We also had them extend our existing retaining wall, rework the steps that were blocking water flow, and then add a layer of rock to improve appearance and redirect water into the drains. We are very pleased with how it turned out. My only criticism is that I would have liked to have had some finishing detail around the drains behind the retaining wall which I didn't realize was not in the bid. But it is something we can easily fix ourselves, so not a big deal.
We are very happy with Scotty. We had high water pressure, and we thought we did not have regulator. He came and dig it up and told me that we had one. He replaced the regulator and psi drops to 60. Will contact him again if we have another plumbing project.
If you need a fence repaired or replaced... don't go to a fence installation contractor. You will pay double the price. I contacted a number of contractors for repair of our boundary fence. Fully half didn't bother responding to my voice mail - I assume the job was too small. Of the four that actually responded, three were fence installation contractors and one was fence repair - Al. I could tell from the quote he sent me, he knew his business. There was no guessing. He quoted in linear feet and per post. When asked, he came out immediately to review the job and confirm the price and started working the next day. We were so pleased with his work quality, work ethic, and knowledge that we expanded (doubled) the work. He was able to do it all in two days. We are planning on having him come back to repair another part of the fence soon. Don't waste your time... hire Al for your fence repairs and replacements. He loves what he does, it shows, and you will not regret it.
Angel was eager to help right away. He was able to set a price before even seeing the job and didn't need to change pricing. Everything was fair, clearly explained and he put everything in writing. The work he did looks amazing. Where another contractor wanted to rip out the entire drywall panel, Angel was able to salvage most of the wall and even gave me extra support beams to hang a tv later at no extra charge. I will definitely hire him again and you should too.
Thank you Jonathan for doing a quick job on our demo. The work was done neatly and your punctuality was helpful in expediting other trades contractors. Thank you so much. I will save your number and call on you anytime I need work done in the future.
Jose and his partner did an excellent job. They were always on time and worked the entire time. They only took a lunch break. They were sensitive to my needs and did their best to keep the concrete dust off of my furniture. I do believe they took on a bigger job then they expected. We had 650 sq feet of tile to remove and the thin set was unbearable. It took them 4 days, instead of the 3, but I'm very satisfied. I am a realtor with Keller Williams, and I will be recommendin them!
Quality: The finish they did was great! Matched other rooms very well. Getting a good texture match was important to me. Professionalism: Team was polite and courteous. Responsiveness: Joel always responded via Thumbtack quickly. I always knew the status of the work and when he thought they would be finished. Value: His bid was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. I find you get what you pay for -- and for the quality of work, what he bid was very reasonable. Punctuality: In general, very punctual. Our first day the team was a little late (got hung up at the supply store), but they hustled over as fast as they could. Otherwise, they finished when I expected they would. Other remarks: Popcorn removal is a messy process -- this case was no exception. While they did an admirable job covering the floors, and trying to minimize the impact, dust still got everywhere - even in parts of the house where they weren't working. There was also texture splatter here and there, but they cleaned it up without complaint. Expect that this process will require you paint your walls in the rooms where it is done. The ceiling will look so much nicer it will make your walls look awful. If you plan to paint your walls, wait and do popcorn removal first. :D They also were game to take on a little extra item here and there (we negotiated $$ as we went). Saved me from having to hire separate contractors later -- so that was a bonus. Having worked with a lot of sub-contractors and home improvement projects, the work was done very well. The dust / mess I can clean-up (and frankly, it was expected). Solid A overall.
Fina Ross guided us through a major remodel of our master bath, giving us the unique, old world style retreat that we always wanted. We love it every day. We have even had visitors who come back to our house with friends just to show them our bathroom. Other contractors lacked the vision, creativity, artistry and know how help us, and Fina Ross stood out right away as a contractor willing to go the extra mile and bring ingenuity, craftsmanship, and cost-consciousness to a big project. She spent hours walking us through choices and drawing sketches until we had exactly the look we wanted. She wraps design skills into every step of her projects at no extra charge, and that alone puts her head and shoulders above the rest. Additionally, she is relentlessly committed to customer satisfaction. She took every one of our phone calls, responded ot all emails, made herself available for meetings at any time that was convenient for us, AND applied the same level of service to the few minor issues we had after the job was finished and after she and been fully paid.
awesome experience. very responsive (available to quote the day after), and made himself available to solve my tile decking problem before imminent weather caused me a problem. the quality of the work was bullet proof.
We wanted glass tile installed on 9'x5' wall in our half-bath. Humberto did an amazing job installing the tile. Humberto was on time, the tile installation quality was incredible, and the value was awesome as well. My wife loves the tile and we are already thinking of other jobs for Humberto. Highly recommended.
Felipe and Jacob were great guys. They were easy to work with and met all my needs. They did an excellent job for the most part. The only thing I would say is that the tile work could have been a tad bit better.
Mario is AMAZING!! I hired him and his employees to tile my bathroom floor to ceiling. As is often the case with a remodel, when walls were exposed, the design had to change. Mario rolled with it and helped in every way he could. Whether it was ordering and picking up tile, unexpected electrical work, changes in design, or just to check in, Mario's communication is off the charts. I always knew what was going on, what was changing, and it was always so clear that my satisfaction was his top priority. When the job was finished to my satisfaction, there was one small section of textured wall that Mario wasn't happy with, so he stopped by (himself) before work to make sure it was right. This is a great company and they will be my first call the next time I need similar services.
Great Service. I needed to brick up a hole in the wall, unfortunately other contractors would cry off as soon as they realized that they needed to match the bricks Rafael shopped around and found a good, affordable match. He also did great work and repaired all the drywall inside so that you cannot see where the hole was. Priced fairly and started promptly and finished promptly, cleaned up where they were so you would never know they were there. Will definitely use again.
Mark did such a great job fixing up our fireplace. He cleaned out the inside, removed the old tile and brick, added new marble, designed our mantel, added new electrical and mounted our TV.
Caleb job did a wonderful job on tiling my two spare bedrooms. He has a wonderful attention to detail and they look very nice!
Bill was extremely professional, personable, confirmed all appts, and very flexible when scheduling appointments. He did a great job with our drywall and tile work. He loves what he does you can tell. Would call again for sure!
We had some drywall repairs to do. Fast, efficient and simple to do business with. Extremely happy with the quality and have already received a quote for the next job we need done!
Chris’s team of Alex and a few other guys did an amazing job. The lines are really clean, when a tile wasn’t right, they fixed it, and they cleaned up well after themselves. Alex was very responsive working with me to be extra tile when needed, text me back when asked for ETAs and worked around me not being home and having a busy schedule. I would hire them again.
Tom Estes did a great job repairing the tile work in a shower. He replied to my request quickly, assessed the repair needed, purchased the tile and completed the repair quickly and expertly. Tom was courteous and professional and communicated with me throughout the work. I appreciated the quick response and excellent work. I would definately use his services again.
Juan and two assistants came to remodel a bedroom that was in terrible shape. Juan was very responsive to messages and the communication was exceptional. The large room needed painting, installation of a french door (removal of a bay window), tile repair in the restroom and patching of drywall. All was completed within one weekend. I definitely recommend his services to anyone!
I had a sudden water leakage from my bathroom faucet, which destroyed the ceiling of the unit below. Also, it turned out that there has been a gradual water leakage which significantly damaged the wooden subfloor structure. I interviewed three contractors including Ken (MD Contracting). One of them could not do it because the scale of the job was beyond his capacity and another one wanted to do a $1500-demolition just to give me a precise estimate. My neighbor found him through his employee who had a very positive experience with Ken. Ken ended up doing my bathroom and the unit below and he gave us reasonable quotes. He is professional and responded to my questions promptly (This was important because I live in NY, and he worked on my investment property in Austin, TX). I strongly recommend Ken as a general contractor, and I will contact him again if I ever need home improvement projects.
